She threw a little liquid guilt

Into every scoop of ice cream,

Left the chocolates bitter and rotten,

The strawberries a depressing dream.

Sprinkled in society's words

To ensure you're self-aware

That desires are to be ignored

That they shan't deserve a care.

One tablespoon of poor misjudgment

And a teaspoon of insecurities

To ensure you wallow in the heat

Of your stressed screams and self-pity.

For sugars and carbs are poison:

Who needs a little treat?

With calories poisoning your every cell,

Why have a little sweet?

Just stay still, be thin forever

You'd rather be skin and bones

Instead of a bulging lump of fat

Overpowering with hormones.

For society desires a model:

Not sagging cheeks nor stomach.

You'd die of humiliation.

And with your name, you'll plummet.

Leave the ice creams melting

Underneath the blazing sun.

For what does satisfaction mean

If it's billions versus one?
