Chapter Seven

The next morning Beth woke up to an empty bed and a whiny baby, Beth couldn't help but smile when she thought about last night or this morning. She sighed as she got up, she reached down and grabbed the flannel and her underwear and put it back on. She saw Judith was sitting up in her crib reaching for someone, she walked over and picked her up and cooed her gently as she swayed back and forth. "Glad you didn't wake up last night." Beth said teasingly as she wiped Judith's tears away with the sleeve of Daryl's flannel." Wanna go see Daryl, say good morning?" She asked Judith who sniffled and buried her head in Beth's chest.

Beth giggled as she put Judith on the floor, she walked over to the dresser and grabbed her favorite tank top and her only pair of jeans. Judith watched Beth dress as she chewed on the ear of a purple rabbit, Beth pulled her hair into a pony tale and ran her hands over her face before she reached down and grabbed Judith. She fussed of course but Beth knew why.

"I know were going to get you some food my little piglet." Judith began gripping Beth's shirt as they walked into the cafeteria, Beth saw Carol first who was cleaning up. She must have missed breakfast which meant she slept in, oh well she thought she needed it.

"Good morning sleepy heads." Carol said from across the room. Beth giggled." Sorry, where is everyone?"

"Outside. Daryl, Rick, Glenn and Maggie are digging, and Carl, Hershel and Karen are tending to the garden."

"Do you need help?" Carol waved her hand." No not at all, I'm fine. Go outside and enjoy the day, it's beautiful. I'll be out soon. Oh I saved you and Judith some breakfast."

"Thanks." Beth said with a smile as she walked into the kitchen, she saw a bowl of deer meat and peaches. Beth raised an eyebrow which made Carol laugh in return.

"Something about the sweet and salty everyone liked it, it cant hurt to try it." Beth smiled and took a bite of it and her eyes widened." Oh my god you're right."

"Judith want some?" Carol asked.

Carol fed Judith a piece and she greedily reached for the whole bowl, Carol and Beth giggled." Go outside and enjoy the day." Carol assured she'd be fine with clean up, Beth walked through the cafeteria and pushed open the doors and walked out into the sunlight. Judith giggled and clapped her hands when she saw everyone, Beth put her breakfast down on a nearby table so she could adjust Judith's hat. She looked up and saw Daryl was leaning on a shovel watching her, she picked up the bowl and began walking down towards him.

Daryl needed a break, his back was shot and he was starved. When he saw Beth and Judith walk out of the prison he couldn't help but stop and admire them, as they got closer he saw the bowl of the deer meat and peaches that he loved and wanted third's of. He could hear Judith giggling and babbling nonsense, he felt proud and honored because she usually giggles and babbles around him or in the vicinity. "Hey." Beth said. "Hey yourself." Daryl replied. "Da!" Judith screamed as she wiggled her arms and feet. "Hey squirt." Daryl pinched her cheeks making her smile and squeal. He eyed the deer meat and decided since he hunted and tracked it he'd have just one bite, he grabbed a piece and Beth playfully slapped his hand. "What? I got the damn thing an' gutted it, should have the nice part of eatin it."

"Well it's me and Judith breakfast."

"Got plenty of it. Sharin is carin ya know." Beth giggled." You're in a good mood."

"Damn been tryin ta hide it with all the back breaking work I been doin." Daryl said with a smirk."Don't hide it if you're proud of it." Beth smiled at Daryl." Anyways I thought me and Judith could come visit because you looked lonely over here."

"I am lonely." Beth smiled and kissed his lips, they tasted salty so naturally she licked her own lips. She wasn't sure if it was because he just ate the deer meat or if it was the sweat, she didn't care he tasted good. She looked around and only saw Rick who was working by the fence." So where's Glenn and Mag's at?"

"Ran off for a quickie." Beth blushed." Oh."

"Why ya blushin? After last night I thought uh you weren't gonna be blushin no more the way ya dominated me like that." Daryl teased making Beth's blush even more evident to everyone else if they happened to look over, Daryl snickered." Don't stop it's cute as hell." He stuck the shovel into the dirt and it made a thud, he held out his arms for Judith who was reaching for him.

"You know her and Karen have you wrapped around their fingers right?" Daryl nodded." Tell me something I don't know."

"You look sexy holding a kid." Daryl scowled as he bounced Judith a little in his arms." What's with the hat?" He referred to Judith's frilly pink hat with yellow swirls." Aint no kid gonna be wearin a hat like this."

"And I suppose cameo would look better?"

"A lot better." Beth stood there for a second and it suddenly dawned on her about the camera that Glenn brought back, she has been wanting to take a picture of Judith and Daryl for a long time now." Be right back."

"Where you goin?" He called out as Beth ran towards the guard shack completely ignoring him.
