A New Begining

Chapter Ten ~ Fifty Percent

~(Red's P.O.V)~
We headed home after a long days work at the offices. The day has just been, let's just say, eventful. Ross is still in hospital, Max was gonna keep us updated with everything that was happened. I don't think he ever left the hospital, actually.

Tomorrow we both had the day off, so I guess we could have a long lie in.
"Goodnight Barney.." I said and hugged him tight.
"Goodnight Red,"

*the next morning, 5AM*

I was woken up by my phone ringing, it was Max. Oh shit. All the terrible thoughts just went through my head and my anxiety started to kick in.
"Hey, Red.. Umm.. The doctors just came in, and I already called Adam but there was no answer.." Max started..
"What is it Max??" I asked.
"Ross, he's got a really thing in his head, and he's going in for an operation to try fix it.."
"Yes? That's good right?" I said shakily.
"There's only a 50% chance he'll survive."
"Oh. When will he get out?" I asked.
"Around noon,"
"Okay. We'll be there."
Max hung up, I could already tell he was scared. I was too, I didn't want to lose him, we had all grown really close as friends over these past two years.
I tried to stop thinking about it and just climbed back into be with Barney beside me, just having him there already made me feel a lot better.

*small time skip, 8AM*

I woke up right before Barney, I just realised I had to tell him everything about Ross.
"How'd you sleep?" Barney asked me.
I felt a tear run down my face.
"What's wrong.." Barney said and wrapped his arms around me.
I explained everything, and Barney hugged me tight after. He knew how much Ross meant to me as a friend.
"He'll be fine, I promise," Barney said softly. I smiled and kissed his cheek gently, "Thank you,"

We had breakfast together and the morning flew by, it was almost time for us to leave for the hospital. I grabbed my shoes and pulled them on. I was being strong, I just hoped that he would be okay.
"Okay, let's go!" Barney said to me.
I smiled, "Yeah.. Let's go."

I got a text from Max on the way over,
'You guys in your way?'
'Yeah, be there in 10 min'
'See you then'
