There May Come a Time

There may come a time in your life

Where you want what others would call help

Where you want to talk to a therapist

But you are scared

And a few people stand in your way of feeling comfortable getting what they call help

There may come a time in your life

When you realize

If you just keep fighting everything will by okay

Maybe even better

There may come a time in your life

Where you start to really question what love is

Where you star to wonder what it means to fall in love

And ponder if you're falling in love

There may come a time in your life

Where you accidentally tell your true thoughts

Even though you know it's going to hurt you

There may come a time in your life

Where you laugh at how you feel

Laugh at all you've done to look the way you do

And laugh at yourself until you cry

There may come a time in your life

Where tears turn into streams, streams turn into river

And finally you've made an ocean

There may come a time in your life

Where you aren't just crying

You are sobbing

Where you are just so emotionally tired that your body tries to drown you and suffocate you

There may come a time in your life

Where you want to die

Where you curl up into a ball and wait for the darkness to cover you

Where you can't even kill yourself

Where you just wait for the death

There may come a time in your life

Where you've journeyed to all of these places

Where you realize that life isn't a game

It's a tornado

That just meant to take you for a little spin

But ended up dumping you into reality

Where parents don't protect

Where books give you a few hours of escape

Where songs allow you cry for a reason other than your own

There is the time in my life

Where I reflect

And I smile

And I cry

And finally I realize

I just need to hold on to what matters

And let go of what doesn't
