"Mike..." Micky said slowly, "it's April."

"No...No," Mike shook his head. "It's September!"

"Don't you remember when I gave you your birthday present?" Micky asked worriedly. Mike stared at him, a blank expression on his face.

Micky looked at Rebecca, who had tears in her eyes. She shook her head.

"He's been like this all day," she whispered. "I think...I think his mind is blocking out the time of the capture."

"Mike," Micky said slowly, looking at the older boy again. "Do you remember going away for your basic training?"

"Training? What training? I haven't gone yet."
