How to take care of your Melvin

Here are a few steps that you should follow when you are taking care of a Melvin

1. Make sure he is well fed.

Ryou held out a spoonful of oatmeal and tried to get it into Melvin's mouth. However, he kept turning away and moving.

"Stop fussing! You need to eat!"

"No."

Ryou tried keeping him still. "Here comes the airplane!"

Melvin smacked the spoon to the ground. "I don't like it."

"Please? Just..." He picked up the spoon and held him by the chin, making sure he wouldn't move. Then Ryou got another spoonful and finally got him to eat his oatmeal.

However, Melvin didn't chew or swallow his food, so it dribbled down his chin.

"Melvin!" Ryou wiped his mouth with a napkin.

"I don't want it."

"What if I put chocolate chips in it? Then will you eat?"

Melvin's eyes lit up. "Yes please."

2. Give him lots of attention. He likes attention.

"Creampuff..." He prodded at Ryou as he read his book. "Creeeeeeeaaaaammmmpuuuuuuuuuffffffff..."

"One second, let me finish this chapt-"

"NAoooooo." He took Ryou's book and replaced it with himself as he snuggled onto Ryou's chest.
Ryou couldn't even protest before Melvin wrapped his arms around him and said, "Snuggle."

Ryou sighed in defeat and held him close, feeling him drift off to sleep.

3. Make sure he gets plenty of rest.

"Stud, come on." Ryou patted the bed space next to him.

"No."

"Melvin, you need to sleep!"

"No."

Ryou got up and began to tug on his arm. "You're not going to stay up till three watching TV."

"Yes I will."

"No, because you need to get some rest!"
Ryou pulled as hard as he could on Melvin's arm, and suddenly Melvin flopped on top of him, crushing him under his weight.

"I can't breathe...!"

Melvin smiled. "Aw, you take my breath away too."

"You're...crushing me...!"

"Yeah, I've been crushing on you for a while, now."

"Melvin, get up...!"
He heard Melvin snoring, and he pouted.

4. Make sure to teach him proper etiquette.

"Now, do you see that man over there?" Ryou pointed out the window to a guy who was sitting in a restaurant.

"Yes."

"Now, what do you know about him?"

Melvin tilted his head. "He's likes bagels."

"Okay." Ryou nodded. "Is he innocent?"

Melvin's shrugged. "I don't know."

"Is he stained with sin?"

"I don't know."

"Would it matter if he was?"

"No..." Melvin groaned.

"So, why would you murder him?"

"I don't know-" he saw Ryou shaking is head. He sighed and said instead, "I wouldn't."

"And why not?"

Melvin groaned again and recited, "Because brutally slaughtering people is morally wrong and inhumane."

"Good." Ryou smiled and gave him a piece of candy.

5. Listen when he has to say something.

Melvin had tears in his eyes and he curled up next to Ryou.

"Stud, what's wrong?"

There was just a lot of whimpering in response.

"Aw, I'm so sorry."

More whimpering.

"Do you want me to give you a hug?"

Melvin nodded and they hugged, and Melvin smiled against Ryou chest and whimpered some more.

Ryou smiled. "You're welcome. I love you."

Melvin whimpered an "I love you, too."
