EMMA’S POV:

‘’Yeah actually… umm… well… Harry and I are together…like an actual couple’’ I stutter quickly.

‘’What? You’re joking right’’ My dad answers almost immediately his voice a mixture of anger and humour.

‘’No’’ Harry says calmly, honestly I probably would have been best if Harry didn’t speak right now.

‘’No this can’t be right you two hate each other’’ My dad’s tone is a lot more serious now.

‘’We don’t…we love each other’’ I say my hand resting upon Harry’s thigh.

‘’Emma this just doesn’t make sense why would you want to be tied down and married at this age?’’

‘’I’m not dad, Harry’s just my boyfriend nothing more. As far as we’re concerned we’re not married’’

‘’Still Harry just doesn’t seem right for you’’

This is where I got really angry, he has no right to talk about Harry, he doesn’t even know him! He doesn’t know me either really, not the real me so how’s he meant to know what’s good for me?

‘’You know nothing’’ I spat.

Harry’s eyes were now fixated on me, looking back into his eyes I instantly felt calmer, I’m guessing that was Harry’s intention.

‘’Oh ok you’re my daughter but I don’t know what best’’ My dad said almost laughing.

‘’Yeah you know nothing about me! How didn’t you ever notice how much of a fucking mess I am? How did you not notice everything I do around you is an act?’’ I shout a little.

‘’What are you talking about?’’

‘’I haven’t been happy in a long time dad and Harry is literally the only good thing I’ve got’’ I say allowing myself to breathe.

‘’Oh yeah because Harry’s so fucking amazing’’ Dad spits.

‘’Yeah he is actually not that you’d know what its like to love someone and have them love you back! Mum left you and you’ve never dated since’’ I spat back.

Instantly I felt awful saying this, that was a low blow.

Dad didn’t say anything his eyes glossed over with tears.

‘’Dad…I’m sorry…I didn’t mean that, it just I really love Harry… I just want you to be happy for me, for us’’
