"Good luck with that," Morgan said giving me a squeeze, "I'll pray for you."

I giggled and rolled my eyes pulling from the hug, "Yea, thanks."

I walked out the front doors and into the courtyard heading for home taking my sweet time doing so knowing what awaited me once I got there. As I made it to the grassy grounds out in front of the boy's dormitory I was greeted with a familiar voice.

"Ya know, usually when you skip school...you don't return to the scene of the crime." I turned to see Josh as he took up pace beside me and smiled.

"You are here." I countered, he smiled his crooked smile as he took a few steps ahead and turned to face me as he continued to walk backwards.

"I live here," he said simply.

"Yea...wish I did," I said with a sigh. I was not looking forward to going home, knowing I was going to get my ass busted for hours now was more torture than actually getting my ass busted...my nerves were shot.

"Yea, well, apparently my penance for truancy will be delivered tomorrow morning, I have been instructed to meet your brother before class." Josh said shoving his hands into his pockets

"How do you know that?" I questioned cocking a brow. Josh smirked.

"He paid me a little visit," he admitted, "You know, out of all your brothers...Joe is definitely the one I find most intimidating." I nodded in agreement. "Of course that may just be because he is the one who is planning to take a belt to me in the very near future." He said smiling as we reached the edge of school grounds.

"Speaking of which..." I said letting out an exasperated sigh, "I should go..." Josh nodded and smiled.

"See you tomorrow Cee." He said simply, a smile tugged at my lips as I turned and continued on my way home leaving Josh behind on Chilton grounds.

I walked through the front door to find the house quiet, making my way into the kitchen I grabbed a water from the fridge and took a seat at the counter, chances are Joe was waiting for me in my room so I felt no need to head directly upstairs. I sat there for a couple minutes quickly chugging down my bottle of water before tossing it into the trash and grabbing another from the fridge; making my way into the laundry room I grabbed my 'mingos from the dryer and slipped them un under my skirt, they weren't the thick barrier of the sweat pants I had chosen earlier but definitely a better option than receiving the belt with a skirt. Tossing my uniform skirt into the hamper beside the washer I groaned internally before heading upstairs.

"Nice uniform," Joe said cocking a brow as I entered my room to find him sitting on my bed.

"I've been home for a while," I admitted looking down at my coveted 'mingo pajama pants, "thought I might as well get comfy."

Joe nodded before patting the bed beside him, "Sit, we need to talk." Let it be known...it is a proven fact that no good conversation ever started with the words...'We need to talk'...this would not end well for me. I deposited my backpack into my beanbag chair and took a seat next to Joe with a sigh. "Is there something you need to talk to me about?" he questioned looking concerned, "Has something been bothering you lately?"

Cracking my bottle of water open I took a big swig and shook my head. "No."

"This thing with Matt...did something happen between you two that you aren't telling me?" Joe continued to dig trying to get me to confess some unknown secret. I cocked a brow in confusion. "sex-wise." He clarified uncomfortably. I nearly died on the spot.

"NO!" I spat completely mortified. A look of relief washed over his face as he seemed to take the first breath since I had entered the room.

"Help me out here Cee, I am trying to understand what is behind this erratic, unruly behavior of yours lately." Joe pleaded.

"I am not acting erratic," I defended getting upset. "You are so hell bent on believing that Matt is this perfect innocent boy and that Josh is bad news but you weren't there today to see how Matt treated me, he berated me in front of half the school and completely mortified me ...THAT is why I broke up with him; and Josh may smoke and have a bad reputation but he was the one offering to walk me to my class even though it was in the opposite direction he needed to go, and making me smile when I was crying." Joe sat there for a moment in silence soaking in my last rant before letting out a sigh.

"Why you broke up with Matt is really none of my business..." Joe started.

"You're right, it's not." I spat.

Joe glared in my direction clearly not appreciating my sass. "However, this attitude of yours and you skipping school is my business, Nick and I both had to cancel our last block to deal with your little rebellion today, if you are having trouble with someone at school you come and talk to us about it and we will help work things out, you leaving school grounds is not an option and I promise you if it happens again your truancy punishment will be the least of your worries. You are acting extremely hateful lately, every word that has come out of your mouth as of late has been dripping with disrespect it needs to stop right now, am I understood?" I rolled my eyes irritated with the lecture. "Cecelia Marie!" Joe barked now also irritated.

"Yes Sir." I grumbled. Joe nodded before standing from my bed and walking toward my door leaving me sitting there in utter confusion.

That's it? No belt? Just a lecture on my bad attitude and we call it a day? Not that I'm complaining...I dig this arrangement.

"Skipping class is a school matter, your punishment for truancy will be given tomorrow morning before first block, as will Josh's." Joe clarified, "Better get started on your homework, I am going to go start dinner." With that Joe walked out leaving me to the mountain of homework that awaited me.
