Dan's POV

I paced around back and forth in the waiting room. My eyes were burning from the amount that I had been crying. I was absolutely scared for my life, This whole experience had changed me as a person, for the better, but If I can't pursue a happily ever after with the woman I'm in love with, then what's the point.

Phil ran into the waiting room and noticed that I was pacing with tears just streaming down my eyes. When i thought I couldn't cry anymore, more tears just came pouring out. I felt really silly, but I didn't care. I looked up at Phil and stopped moving. He walked up to me, he didn't say anything but just pulled me into a hug, trying to comfort me. I don't know what it was in this moment, but I just broke down , sobbing into Phil's shoulder. He shushed me down and rubbed my back, but the feeling remained the same. I really was glad that I had a best friend like him.

He sat me down and told me he was going to go and get us some coffee so that it'll help calm me down. As much as I appreciated Phil's thought, nothing could calm me down at the moment, not until I knew (Y/n) and the baby were going to be okay. I decided that if she comes out of this, I was going to just let everything out in the open, I didn't know how, but I just knew I had to seize the day.

Phil arrived about 5 minutes later and handed me a cup, I thanked him and then took a deep breath. Phil looked at me, I knew he was worried about me, he had never seen me like this before. But then again I have never acted like this before, I was so used to keeping my guard up for everyone, but right now I was feeling lost and vulnerable. I didn't know how I should feel about that, a little awkward I guess. Phil shifted and put his hand on my knee.

"Okay so start from the beginning. What happened to her?"

"Okay, so she woke me up, saying that she could hear someone in the house and that they might be breaking in. I went to check it out, but I needed to make sure that she remained calm because of the condition that she's got, uh, preclampisa or something. Anyway, I go and check the house and someone's busted through the door. I started yelling and there was a struggle between the two of us, eventually the guy left, but when I cam back to (Y/n), she was panicking and said she wasn't feeling well. I told her to calm down and we started going through breathing exercises, then she was getting hot so she removed the covers from the bed and there was just blood, so much blood. I told her to just breathe and hold on, I called the ambulance, she started getting tired because of the blood loss, all they said was that her condition was now risking the both of them and they had to get her to the hospital, and then all in that the baby started to come as well which made the situation worse, and when we got here, they took her away and I haven't heard anything since, and that was a while ago now. I'm just, I'm freaking out Phil, you have no idea"

I broke down again, tears just free falling onto the floor. Phil rubbed my back but it just stayed that way. We didn't say anything else, we just sat there. I had my head tucked between my knees with my fingers interlaced at the back of my head. It was getting so hard to breathe the more I thought about the negatives.

"Dan, Dan Howell?"

I jumped up in no time at all and ran over to the nurse. dodging anyone and everyone along the way.

"Yes!, Yes I'm Dan."

"You and i need to talk"

Oh no. It's not good.
