I've been at my new apartment for about a month now. I decided do go for modern chic. Bold and bright colours. I would have gone minimalist and white everything, but because I was having a baby, I figured that was probably not the best decision to make. I was now 6 months along and I was only getting bigger. I was eating breakfast at the counter, the baby decided that she wanted blueberry pancakes and fruit this morning so I went down to the new corner store that was right down the street and picked up the ingredients. I only ever made pancakes when Dan was around. I sighed as I took another bite. This baby was like my conscience I swear. I finished up and put my plate in the sink, I waddled my way over to my laptop, and looked online for places that sold baby furniture, because I really needed to start setting up the nursery before I got so big I could hardly move. I jotted down some address on my new phone and slipped on my coat.

When I made it to the store, I saw everything from cots, to highchairs, clothing, changing tables. I felt like i could possibly get everything from one place which was really ideal and so, so easy. I made my way through the sections of the store, just glancing around before I really got into making decisions. I noticed someone outside, He looked familiar so I tried to move a little closer to try and see him without being spotted, but no such luck. I was spotted almost instantly.

"(Y/n)? what are you doing in a ba-, Whoa"

I laughed nervously whilst rubbing the back of my neck and looked at him

"Hi Chris,"

He was Dan's friend. Before I got pregnant, I would hang out with Dan, Chris, Phil and Pj. But when I started distancing myself I lost contact with them.

"What happened? you're pregnant, Last I heard was that you and Dan weren't talking any more, but he didn't know why. I guess this really explains it. Does he know about you?"

"Honestly I don't know. I told Phil when Dan wouldn't acknowledge me, so whether Phil said something or not, I'm not sure"

"Is it Dan's? He told us he had a one night stand with you a while ago now but is it"

He said now in a more hushed tone. It kind of bothered me that Dan went around and explained our sex life to every one I knew. That was great. Thanks Dan.

I sighed "It really annoys me that you know that, but yes. it's Dan's, why else would I have hid myself away from him. I'm 6 months along, And I really need to get back to this before I get too tired"

Chris gave me a sad look, as if to say he was sorry, I gave him a quick hug and then went to go inside when he quickly grabbed my hand

"Can I just get your number, look I know you don't really have anyone, and If you need to talk or need help with anything, I'd just like to know you're safe, especially while you're carrying Dan's baby. He's my friend, I have to look out for the both of you"

I smiled and exchanged numbers with Chris, then waved him off. I walked inside and started looking through all the cribs. I wanted something white. As cliche as it was, I wanted to go for whites and pastel pink's for the nursery. As I looked around I saw this beautiful white crib, that had a rustic approach to it. Even though it didn't fit with the theme of my home, I decided I'd be different for her. I looked around and grabbed the rest of the bits and pieces I needed, I bought some baby clothes, and everything else. But i decided to have them all delivered at the same time. I'm not sure I could handle carrying bags of baby things home today.

I made my way home and got changed into some sweat pants and a over-sized shirt. I ordered some take out, I was really craving chicken chow mein, but the baby just really wanted the vegetable that came with it. I laid back on the sofa watching the newest episode of my favourite show whilst rubbing my belly. To think I was only three months away from meeting her, it gave me goosebumps because I was scared but just so excited to start a new chapter with someone I could truly call my own. My phone started to buzz, I looked at it, but it came up with a number I didn't recognize. It sat there buzzing, but I didn't answer it, because I never picked up the phone for people I didn't know. The phone stopped buzzing, but two minutes later it started to ring again. When it started to buzz I had such an uncomfortable Jab come from my stomach. It took me a while to realise what was happening, but when it finally clicked I placed my hands over the jabbing sensation. It happened again, A smile was spread so far across my face it was practically hurting. She was kicking for the first time. I completely forgot about the continuous buzzing coming from my phone, because I was just so absorbed by this precious moment I was sharing with my baby. She was a strong little thing. I started to rub my belly, talking to her, Saying how I was so excited to meet her soon and that I loved her.

My phone began to ring again, and again, and again, who ever this was would not let up. so I answered, not giving whoever it was time to speak

"Look whoever this is, I don't know your number, whether you even have the right person or not is beyond me, but I don't know you, So I would appreciate It if you would just stop calling me"

 And then I hung up.

Little did I know who was on the other end.
