Surprise?!

In honour of Kirstie going to Broadway...

------------------------------

Could spend a lifetime trying to figure it out.

At first it was awkward, they had grown, they were different but they wouldn't wish it to be any other way. She knew she loved him, and that he loved her, but no longer were they sure of who the other person was, they had changed. It took time to understand each other again, to rekindle what they had. Everything had to be rediscovered, everything was new. He no longer sulked, she had learnt not to expect the impossible from people. It was like learning falling in love all over again and that was not something to be conquered overnight.

There were moments in the beginning that Kirstie wanted to give up on them again, wanted to shout at him for not acting exactly the same as he used to, no longer loving her the same as before. He had changed - they both had. But they were no longer two separate disasters, just one, and that's all that mattered to them. They could work through things now - together, and that was all she needed to forgive him.

The fans were a lot better this time around. They loved Avi now, they loved his music, they loved his pictures. No longer was he the guy keeping 'Scirstie' apart. He actually was somebody in the industry now and not just some busker on the subway. Kirstie had been stolen away by someone they knew and that softened the reception of their relationship dramatically.

There had been speculation about the two of them ever since Avi started to become a celebrity. People recognised him from his connection to Kirstie and immediately a flurry of rumours occurred regarding the status of their relationship. Were they still together? If they did, why did they break up? Were they back together? The fact that she clearly didn't have another man in her life now Scott had Mitch, he lived on the other side of the country, and that they unfollowed each other on all social media all added fuel to the flame.  Even a couple of years after people made the connection between the two Kirstie still occasionally woke up to the news that the two of them had been spotted on a date.

Naturally their mutual fans were overwhelmed at the idea of rumours being true. Even if it had taken a few years for it to happen.

Knowing what they did from their previous run in with the online masses, they made sure to be in control of things this time around. They teased the fans, subtly responding to every rumour about them. If they were seen in Central Park, Kirstie would post a picture of her muddy dog playing in a fountain a couple of days later. If they apparently went out for dinner, Avi would tweet about how good his meal was the other night. It was all Mitch's idea, get the fans excited about the thought of the two of them so there was less room for negativity. So far it had worked like a treat. People 'shipped' them now, people wanted them to be together, and that took such a weight off of the pressure of their relationship.

After months of teasing, they finally started to post about one another. They had never officially confirmed anything, but everyone knew - they were together again, they were in love and that was all that mattered. No one loved her like he did.

"I'm freaking out!" Kirstie groaned into her hands, her head almost between her legs as she sat on the low couch in her dressing room. There was only 10 minutes until the starting call and Kirstie didn't know whether she wanted it to come sooner or not at all. She never used to get as nervous as she felt in that moment but she never had felt the pressure of doing a role justice before. There was a dedicated fan base, she was coming in mid run, she had to prove herself to a lot of people who knew her only as that girl with all the teenage fans and she wasn't quite sure she could do it.
