Eli's POV:
"I'm gonna go out now so you can get changed." "Okay." I released Mae from my arms and helped her up. "Thank you, Eli." "You're welcome, Mae." I kissed her forehead and stepped out the door. Iron Man was on the tv when I sat down. A few minutes later, Mae opened the bathroom door and I saw her standing there. This beautiful girl, and she belonged to me. After all this time, I finally had her and I could hold her in my arms and kiss her anytime time I want. Even under the worst circumstances, Mae had the power to take away my pain and sorrow. All I need is her. Mae turned off the bathroom light and started to walk over toward me. I could feel my heart rate go up as she got closer to me. Mae ran her hand through my hair, then place it on my cheek. She kissed me and there was something about that kiss, it was peaceful and almost reassuring. She laid down next to me and all I could do was soak in her love and warmth. My mom was right, we really do keep each other alive.
