Memories

Memories plague me

As hot tears fall down

I’m bordering insanity

Wearing a frown

My heart is heavy

My breath is caught

Nothing is steady

For the darkness had brought

Sorrow

That curls over my heart, icy tendrils not being fought

This feeling will stay in the morrow

The darkness has brought

Pain

Shattering the broken shards

I have nothing to gain

Pieces of my heart have already been marred

I miss you

Though you have only just gone

I miss you

Where are these thoughts coming from?

I miss you

You’ll always linger with me

I miss you

For you helped me soar free

I miss you

The words are a heavy sigh

And if I said I was happy

That would be a lie

For I miss you

Now those words are true

And my heart will always hold

Memories of you

Memories of gold

My pillow is damp, stained wet

With salty tears, I dare not forget

Of you.
