Winter cheer

The rays on sun shine on frost

The cold north air wails a song

Shows what beauty has been lost

Shows how winter does belong

Forget for a moment, the cold

Forget for a moment, the darkness

Embrace the secrets untold

As the fire warms us with gladness

Look at the pure white snow

At the sparkling lakes and rivers

The shades of brown, the branches show

As the sun reflects and glitters

Have you seen the robin red breast?

Or the bright green holly?

The red berries that shine with zest

Subtly showing winter is jolly

So what if the winds nips at our fingers

Or that the ice makes us slip and fall

Joyous is winter as the night lingers

With the silver moon and twinkling stars that call

Winter is beauty

Winter is warmth

Winter is cheer

Without winter, the wheel would not turn, spring would not come

So never forget how good is winter
