Sadness is dominant

Sadness is dominant

Like the ice in my heart

Frozen solid, for I am torn

As salty tears fall

Tearing me from this world

I am trapped, unable to break free

Like a bird in a cage

I cannot spread myself

Hunched in the darkness

Cowering away

But not in fear, in sadness

I am trapped, unable to break free

This is my life

This bleak desolate place

Where nightmares come daily

Blocking their voices

The harsh cruel words

I am trapped, unable to break free

The howling wind tells my tale

Tells of my cold demise

Solitary and alone

Sticks and stones break my bones, but names can never hurt me

How wrong a saying

For I am trapped, unable to break free

Trapped

Alone

Desolate

Bleak

Hate

Not love

Hate

This is my life, not yours, this is mine. Be grateful that you are not like me. Not my past, my present. Will it become my future?
