The family of dragons awake at the crack of dawn, the sky eerily grey. The sea suspiciously calm, only a few small waves break the smooth surface.
Hiccup flinches as she gets up on shaking legs. The rest of her family stretches their wings as they yawn. "Okay if we go now we might be able to get to a new uninhabited island by nightfall" their father grunts. They push themselves back into the grey skies.
Hiccup struggles with keeping up, a biting sting travels through her body with each pump of her wings. She pushes down the urge to flinch and whimper, totally ignoring the pain.
After a few hours of flying her breaths come out labored and her eyes become murky. Even the membrane of her wings hurt, hiccup falls behind by a few meters. Sigeweard looks over his shoulder at his youngest daughter.
"Hiccup?" He asks worried, in a second she gets flanked by her parents and siblings. "Oh dear! Darling you look down right miserable!" Hiccup smiles weakly "gee... thanks Yrsa, you really make me feel like a lady" "no seriously are you feeling ok?" Hiccup pants as her wings quiver with another push to climb higher into the grey sky.
"You shouldn't push yourself y'know?" Aron says softly, "i am fine" Hiccup snaps. Her muscles burn and she starts losing altitude again, Sigeweard flies underneath her so the exhausted fledgling is resting on his strong back.
Sigeweard cringes as he feels the difference in temperature of his daughter. "We need to land NOW" he roars, "there isn't any land" "yes there is, just over there!"
The island Yrsa pointed out is barren and small but it will suffice for a stop. They gently lay hiccup down on her side her belly exposed to their gazes. The parents gasp in horror at the sight of the light grey belly scales, "what? What is it?" Her siblings ask in sync.
"It's dragon-frost" (i know i know its a lame name -.-)"well...we can cure it right?" Aron asks worried. Selene nods solemnly, "but the cure is produced by the same species, like if you or yrsa were to get dragon-frost we would've been the cure but with hiccup.... we have to find another Shadow-blender"
"Is it lethal?" "It is... but seeing the spread she has about 5 and a half years" "so all we have to do is find another Shadow-blender to save hiccup in the next 5 and a half years?" Selene nods, Aron smiles. "well then! why are we still here? Dad can carry hiccup around, she's weighs practically nothing!"
the family chuckles at his enthusiasm "yea, you're right. let's go guys" Selene puts her youngest hatchling on her mate's back. The family gets back into the skies and fly away now in search of another Shadow-Blender to save their little Hiccup.

Soon 5 years passed, today is the day of Hiccup's 15th summer cycle and the family is flying to a large mountain where all kinds of dragon's reside.The parents get more hesitant as the near the large island, Aron and Yrsa take notice "what is it mom? dad?" Sigeweard sighs "kids, inside that mountain is a Red Death. she can control dragons to do what she wants by instilling fear,but you should fight your fears for your family ok? if she demands one of our heads as a sign of respect DON'T do it. take hiccup and flee untill you can't hear her anymore. we'll stay and keep searching for a Shadow-Blender"
"b-but" "no buts, we must do this. if we don't succeed now, we only have six months left with Hiccup. Everybody looks at the quivering dragoness almost her entire body has turned white as snow only her face is a light grey. Her half-lidded eyes glance at her family, pain is the foremost emotion read in the forest green irises, then love and gratitude.
Everybody takes a deep breath before flying into the Den. there are two Nightmares guarding the entrance, the orange scaled one looks up to see the little dragoness on her father's back. "ah there you are little one, Master Toothless and Lady Vanicas shall be very pleas- oh dear! " his red eyes look at them alarmed.
"Pyrus! bring this family immediately to the den of the shadow-blender's den! no detours, this is an emergency"he commands the brown dragon besides him. Pyrus gives him a nod "follow me" he says curtly, the dragons fly through maze-like tunnels until they reach a large den. "Lady Vanicas? there are guests that need your immediate attention" he says. "i'll be right there" the dragon bows his head and takes of leaving the family waiting nervously for Lady Vanicas.
not long after a Shadow-Blender exits the den. "ah you must be the guests Pyrus called me out for, please do come in" she says softly. The family slowly walks in after the female, "so what can i help you with?" she asks politely.
"well it's our daughter, she has Dragon-Frost" the Shadow-blender frowns. "i do not understand, why come to me if you can cure her yourselves?" Selene looks around nervously "well that's just it, we can't we've adopted her" she gently lifts Hiccup of the back of her mate. Vanicas gasps as she recognizes the scent of her own venom "H-Hiccup?" she whispers.
The family looks at her shocked "how do you? you're not her mother are you?" Aron asks as he stands protectively in front of his little sister. "oh dear no, i've met her when she was just a few moons old. Actually she's the fated half of my son. but firstly we must cure this illness, luckily my son lost some scales last night" Vanicas turns around and walks away only to return with small black scales. ...............................................................
she eats them "what?! that's our last hope of saving Hiccup!" Yrsa and Aron yell, "shush! this is all part of the process, you two are being incredibly rude" Sigeweard scolds. about 10 minutes later Vanicas spits them out in Hiccup's parted mouth. the weakened youngster does her best to down the medicine, the family stares in awe as Hiccup's scales return to their deep purple color. her forest green eyes become lively and awake again.
they can only stare as the dragoness gets up on shaking legs, Aron is the first to spring in motion as he runs to his little sister and wraps her in his wings "you're ok!" he cheers. Suddenly a black blur speeds past his head. "mom! mom! i can sense her! she's...here?" Hiccup stares straight in the eyes of another young Shadow-Blender. "you're beautiful" the boy breaths out, "e-excuse me?" Hiccup stutters. The newcomer purrs with content at the sound of her soft voice.
Vanicas sighs, "as i informed you before, this is my son....Toothless" Toothless keeps staring at the small female in front of him, that is until she gets blocked from his view by Aron. "keep your eyes to yourself" he growls, "keep away from my mate" Toothless snarls back. Yrsa shakes her head in disappointment "they're going to fight aren't they?" she asks, no rather states, no one in particular. they all nod, Yrsa groans "peachy.... just peachy"
yeeyyyy! they finally met!! although Aron doesn't seem too pleased by that fact.... oh oh
