"Aphmau! It's so great to see you again!" Zianna, Garroth's mother, exclaimed when we stepped into their apartment.

"It's great to see you, too!" I replied, smiling broadly.

"Garte, Vylad, come greet the girl!" Zinnia demanded, waving them over.

I shook Garte's hand in greeting and did the same with Vylad, but in a less formal way.

"Where's Zane?" Garroth asked his parents.

"Oh! Zuzu finally moved out to the city Phoenix Drop!" Zianna exclaimed happily, leading us to the tightly-fitted sofas in the corner of the apartment.

"Really?!" I exclaimed when I heard these words, "That's my hometown!"

"Wow! What a small world," Zianna giggled. "Do you two want some tea?"

"That'd be great, Mom," Garroth said, watching her scurry off to the kitchen on the other side of the room.

There was a long period of silence before Garte spoke, "I'm sorry, but can I borrow Aphmau for a second?"

"Oh—uh—sure," Garroth said, removing his arm from my waist.

He led me to a tight hallway that held the doors to what I guessed were the bedrooms and paused in the middle of the hallway and spoke in a quiet voice, "Keep an eye on my son for me, will you?"

I nodded, "I will. May I ask why?"

"He seems... different. When he was younger, all he wanted was to be famous. Of course, he got his wish in high school, but I'm afraid he'll get power-hungry for fame, just like I was his age. But he always seemed so shy after his graduation from university, until now."

"I'll make sure that doesn't happen, sir. I'd hate for him to get brain-washed by popularity, in all honesty."

He nodded, grinning slightly, "You're a good girl. I trust you."

After a long conversation about the approaching concerts and the holidays in the winter, we finally left for some personal time before we left for our next destination.

We took a subway to a place Garroth said was special to him. On the way there, he explained that it was a park in the outskirts of the city, near the suburban area.

He said it was very similar to a park in Scaleswind which had a large tree. "You'll have to take me there sometime."

"Maybe I will."

"Maybe?"

He squeezed my shoulders, "Sometimes maybe is an uncertain promise."

"That's a weird way to think about it."

"I'm a weird person."

"You're my weird person," I said cornily.

He led me off the subway, clutching my hand, and to the park nearly a block away from the subway stop. We sat in the shade of a mango tree, escaping the summer heat.

We sat in comfortable silence, with my head leaning on his shoulder. Eventually, Garroth said, "What did my father want to talk to you about?"

I scavenged my mind for an excuse, nervously saying, "Just about our relationship."

"Why couldn't he have asked both of us those questions?"

I shrugged, "I guess they were directed mainly towards me."

I could tell there was suspicion in his voice, but I was relieved when he decided to disregard the subject, leaving us to our peace.

After several minutes of just enjoying the company of the other, we decided to ride the subway once more to get back to the concert hall to start prepping.
