I see your monsters, I see your pain
Tell me your problems, I'll chase them away
I'll be your lighthouse, I'll make it okay
When I see your monsters, I'll stand there so brave
And chase them all away

In the dark we we
We stand apart we we
Never see that the things we need are staring right at us
You just want to hide hide
Hide never show your smile smile
Stand alone when you need someone it's the hardest thing of all
That you see are the bad bad
Bad memories take your time and you'll find me

I see your monsters, I see your pain
Tell me your problems, I'll chase them away
I'll be your lighthouse, I'll make it okay
When I see your monsters, I'll stand there so brave
And chase them all away

I could see the sky sky
Sky beautiful tonight night
When you breathe, why can't you see that the clouds are in your head
I would stay there there
There's no need to fear fear
And when you need to talk it out with someone you can trust
What you see are the bad bad
Bad memories take your time and you'll find me

I see your monsters, I see your pain
Tell me your problems, I'll chase them away
I'll be your lighthouse, I'll make it okay
When I see your monsters, I'll stand there so brave
And chase them all away
I'll chase them all away

You got the chance to see the light
Even in the darkest night
I will be here like you were for me
So just let me in

Cause I see your monsters, I see your pain
Tell me your problems, I'll chase them away
I'll be your lighthouse, I'll make it okay
When I see your monsters, I'll stand there so brave
I see your monsters, I see your pain
Tell me your problems, I'll chase them away
I'll be your lighthouse, I'll make it okay
When I see your monsters, I'll stand there so brave
And chase them all away

The last chord on the recording resounded as I finished singing the vocals, earning big grins from Nicole and Laurence on the other side of the soundproof glass. "How was that?" I asked into the mic, tilting my head

"Perfect!" Travis said into a mic sitting by his desk. Travis sat at a large dual-screen computer on the other side of the glass, where the soundboard was also located.

"So we're done?"

I observed them as they all nodded their heads, and Travis answered, "Should be. We might come back for fine-tuning or backup vocals. But nonetheless, we're through. Nice job!"

I removed the headset from my ears and exited the sound-booth. "How's the new client doing?" I asked Laurence.

"He's recorded several of his pre-written originals, and I suppose I should say he's doing quite well. Why don't you go introduce yourself?"

I nodded slowly, placing my hands on my hips. "I guess I have the time to. Do you know where I can find him?"

"He should be in the music room on the third floor," Laurence answered, stepping past me to talk with Travis about the recording.

I nodded to my self and traveled down the hallway to get to the nearest elevator. Like always, they were empty due to the fact most people were in offices or recording studios. To get to the floor below didn't take much of an extended period of time, and I soon found myself at the music room and twisted the doorknob of the door.

Standing in the corner was a tall, young man with blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. He looked in his early twenties; around my very own age. At my entrance, he looked up and I could observe the ocean of blue more clearly.

"I guess you're the new guy, huh?" I stuck out my hand in greeting, placing my usual smile on my lips, "I'm Aphmau. Welcome to the business."

He grinned crookedly and shook my hand, "It's Garroth. I've heard a lot of good things about you. I've always liked listening to your music." The moment he said his name, I recalled hearing it from the meeting the previous week.

"Thank you so much! Your recording sounded amazing as well!"

The two of us grinned at each other. A silence hung in the air after we introduced ourselves, and I awkwardly stepped over to the sofa and sat down, "So... hat have you been working on?"

"I'm still in the process of one song. I haven't gotten it all in order, though," he answered, fumbling with his guitar pick in an attempt to do something with his hands.

"What's it called?" I asked, tilting my head in curiosity.

"Young & Foolish."

"Ooh, intriguing title," I raised an eyebrow, placing my chin in my hand and resting my elbow on my knee. Garroth shrugged, still grinning slightly. "Tell me about yourself," I suggested, attempting to bring the conversation somewhere.

"What about?"

"Just your background. Where you're from, your family, etcetera."

"Well... uh," he scratched the back of his neck, "I'm from O'Khasis. I come from a pretty wealthy family, though I don't like bringing that topic up in a typical conversation. And—well—I have two younger brothers, Zane and Vylad. And... what else? I'm just a normal person. What about you? I'm sure you have an interesting past."

"Not really," I shrugged, "I'm an only child to a single mother. My mother passed when I was seven. After years in foster care, I finally moved out to Scaleswind with my two adopted sons and nanny. I ended up with a successful career, and that brings us up to date." There were several minutes of uncomfortable silence before I finally spoke again, an idea sparking in my mind. "Why don't we write a song together? I have a concert coming up in a month in Pikoro, and you could join me?"

His slight grin transitioned into a warm smile, "You wouldn't mind?"

I shook my head, "I don't mind at all. It'll kickstart your career. Plus, I wish someone would have done such for me."

"Well, I'd love to."

And Garroth finally makes an appearance! Next chapter will be his POV, so I should have fun writing that ;p
