Chapter 12.5

"Thunderstorm"

The day started off pretty nicely.

The sky was clear and the sun was out, people suddenly appeared in the streets as if they were bugs that are attracted to light.

Asahi Azumane was one of those people.

He liked sunny days, he liked warm days. He was just a big ball of fluff who liked warmth.

Asahi was woken up by a ray of sun peeking through his window. Sleepily he somehow made his way to the bathroom and had a shower.

After that, just like any other person, he walked downstairs to the kitchen. He lived alone, he wasn't some small kid anymore.

Azumane Asahi is a 19 year-old who is trying to take care of himself.

He looked at his phone which he had left downstairs last night, before he could even touch it, it buzzed.

"I'm coming over now!"
The message read.

Ah, he didn't even have to check who sent that message.

It was obviously Nishinoya Yuu, Asahi's bestfriend. They have been bff's since they were little kids. No one actually believed that they are friends when they were in highschool. Asahi was a strong, tall volleyball player and Noya.. Well Noya was Noya, a small birdie who always was with Asahi.

But Asahi could never imagine his life without Noya.

He graduated last year, but because he didn't want to leave Noya alone, he decided to not go to the university.

Noya was currently a third-year. And actually a coolest third-year at that. Everyone loved him, but he only had eyes for Asahi.

That's right, a little birb was in love with his bestfriend. It all started off as an innocent thought "What if Asahi was my boyfriend?" and after that Noya just kept thinking and thinking, and ended up realizing his feelings.

Now, he was very straight forward and confessed to Asahi, but Asahi said he needs time to think and Noya hasn't bother him since then.

They never changed after that confession. Noya was Noya, Asahi was Asahi , and the two were still bestfriends.

Asahi was in the middle of making breakfast when he heard someone unlocking the door.

Noya ran up to Asahi, jumping into his arms.

"Good morning Asahi! Are we going somewhere today? Are we?"

"N-Noya, calm down. Yes, we are. Now sit down, I will finish making breakfast"

Noya instantly sat down, waiting for food.

A great day was ahead of them.

Or so they thought. After walking around for 2 hours Noya realized the he left his wallet at home, Asahi lost his beanie and the sky became cloudy.

It was much colder than before and the two guys were freezing. They used the cold as an excuse to get free coffee from some old guy.

Noya headed home shortly afterwards, he would have stayed with Asahi, but Asahi asked him to go home, since it was cold, and even though Noya knew how much Asahi hated cold, he listened to him.

At around 8 PM it started raining. Asahi was in the middle of watching a movie when he heard the rain outside.

Even though he couldn't stand cold, the sound of rain was one of his favorite things.

He thought that he could enjoy it while reading a book. He turned off the movie and headed to his bedroom.

Everything was going fine, the rain kept falling and falling. Time was passing quickly. Asahi didn't even notice how fast 11 PM came. He was about to read the most interesting part of the book when a lighting struck and the power went off.

Asahi was not OK.

Asahi only told Noya this, but he is scared of thunderstorms.

Another lighting, followed by a loud thunder made Asahi flee from his bed, sit in a corner that was the furthest from the window and cover his ears.

Shivering and trembling he grabbed his phone, dialing Noya's number.

"Asah---"

"N-Noya.. P-plea---"
Another lighting and a thunder, but this time it was closer.

"I'm coming, stay where you are"

Noya hung up and without changing his clothes ran to the Asahi's house. He had an extra key just for these situations.

The house was dark, but Noya didn't need to see, he knew where to go when he heard a faint sob coming from the upstairs. He quickly ran to where the sound was coming from, just as he entered the room another lighting struck and Noya saw the poor Asahi, trying to cover his ears. He walked up to Asahi, hugging him, Asahi responded immediately, clinging to Noya.

They don't know how much time passed, but Noya kept holding Asahi, whispering "it's OK" to him. Time flew and the thunderstorm soon ended. But Asahi kept holding onto Noya.

As Noya pulled away a little bit, he looked at Asahi. The light came back and he could see him clearly. His hair was a mess, but so was Noya's. He just looked plain adorable and Noya couldn't hold back anymore. He slammed his lips on Asahi's.

The response was the one that he didn't expected at all.

Asahi pulled Noya even closer, holding him.

They kissed for the first time in their life. The kiss grew when Asahi bit on Noya's bottom lip, asking for an entrance. He was soon granted one and the whole kiss turned into a 30 minute long make-out session.

"A-Asahi.." Noya was out of breath, his heart beating like crazy, blush on his cheeks, and him somehow on top of Asahi.

"Noya... I love you"

Asahi was surprised he didn't stutter and looked at Noya.

Noya was smiling. He was so happy.

After all that time, Asahi finally told him how he feels.

"I love you too, Asahi" Noya said as he kissed Asahi again.

They both locked themselves in their world till the sun came up again.

Another sunny day.

Another day when they will hang out.

But to them it was a start of a new life.

Somehow Noya was glad that Asahi was afraid of thunderstorms.

If not it, who knows how long it would have taken Asahi to confess.
