Wednesday.

Kuroo hated wednesdays.
Why?
Because on wednesday's his dad is always at home.
He doesn't respect his dad. He knows that he should, but he can't bring himself to like that man.

Kuroo was heading back from school. Bokuto was still absent, Daichi and Oikawa are in student council so they had to stay at school.
He didn't want to go home. Not today. He stopped by the park. He spent there a good hour, looking at trees, little kids playing, people walking. He wasn't far from Bokuto's place and he was very tempted to visit him, but decided not to. Bokuto seemed stressed and he didn't want to bother him.
After that, he went to a nearby book store. Another hour was spent looking at books, manga and drawing supplies.
"Hmm... Maybe I should buy something..."
He looked through the manga until he found what he was looking for. It was a completely new volume of his favorite manga series (it's Makai Ouji by the way). Without a second thought he bought it.
"What now?"
He counted the money that he had. There was enough for a cup of coffee and something to eat. He went to the store and bought a meat bun, and was now thinking which cafe to choose, when he remembered that cafe at the end of the alley.
He didn't rush there. He tried to walk as slow as possible. And after thirty minutes he had reached his destination.
Unlike Bokuto, Kuroo choose a quiet spot in the corner. He saw a waiter coming his way.
"Good day, sir, what would you like to order today?"
The voice of the waiter wasn't cold, it sounded like he or she (Even Kuroo wasn't sure) was rather bored to be there.
"A cup of black coffee, please"
The waiter nodded and walked away.
Kuroo took out the manga he had bought before and started reading. He knew that he should text his mother to tell her he wouldn't be home on time, but right now it seemed like to much of a bother.
"I didn't know this volume was out already" he heard a voice say.
It was the waiter.
Looking more closely, Kuroo realized it was a boy.
"It came out today, so I decided to buy it"
"Lucky.."
The waiter set the cup on the table and was about to walk away, but Kuroo stopped him.
"Hey, your manager won't mind if I stay here till the cafe closes right?"
"It will close in 4 hours, are you sure about staying here for so long?"
"Yeah. I am"
"He won't mind, I hope you have fun reading"
The waiter walked away and Kuroo was left alone with his manga.

"I'll spend my time here calmly. Time to read!"

Or so he thought. About a half an hour later, his eye caught the waiter who was cleaning the tables. At first Kuroo wasn't interested, but the waiter just had to unbutton the first two buttons of the shirt. Kuroo could see his collarbones. Somehow he found that very sexy. He also noticed how the waiter had put his hair into a little small ponytail. While Kuroo was enjoying the view, he completely forgot about his manga or coffee. It was probably already cold, but Kuroo couldn't get his eyes off the waiter.
"Kozume"
That's what the name tag said.
"Kozume..Kozume..Kozume.. I think I have heard this somewhere before"
Just as Kuroo thought that the waiter couldn't get any sexier, the waiter suddenly yawned and streched. His shirt, which was not tucked in, lifted up a little bit and Kuroo was granted a majestic view of pale, flat tummy, not to mention the sound that Kozume made when he yawned.
"Shit... Somehow I want to touch him really bad"
Kuroo was not stressed, he was turned on and there is nothing he could do about it. Somehow, he had to calmly sit here for another 2 hours 30 minutes.

_____

Time passed by rather slowly for Kuroo. In that time only 2 more people came into the cafe, which made Kuroo understand that this wasn't a really known place (it made him feel relieved 😌). He also learned that Kozume likes playing video games and watching anime. He saw him playing games on his phone, and then later Kozume actually joined him and they talked about manga and anime a lot. Kuroo also noticed that their manager is really a paranormal beast that appears out of nowhere and disappears into the night.
To sum up, today was fun for Kuroo. He wanted to spend more time there, but the cafe had to close and Kozume asked him to leave.
"Hey! Could I maybe get your number, Kozume?"
"Sure, I guess... Also, call me Kenma"
"Okay okay~!"
They quickly exchanged numbers and Kuroo left the cafe (after violently waving Goodbye to Kenma).
If you had been at the town at that time, and if you would have seen Kuroo, maybe you could understand why people were looking at him so weirdly. I mean, who wouldn't find a highschool student with his smile from ear to ear weird.
"So, it's 8:15 PM now.. I will get home in about 40 minutes.. I guess that's good"
He walked and walked, suddenly stopped, screamed and fell to his knees.
"No, I LEFT MY MANGA AT THE CAFE!!!"
Now a bit more stressed Kuroo was still walking home. After that tragic incident he decided to listen to some music which would hopefully calm him down. As his favorite song came on, his breathing became steady.
Kuroo choose a route home that led through the park.
"And I notice, notice, notice, notice, notice what you want, poetic justice, put it in a song" he sang quietly.

So around 9 PM he finally reached his home. As soon as he opened the door, he heard his mother running towards him.
"Tetsurou! Oh my god, I was so scared something happened to you! Did you eat? You aren't hurt, right?"
"Ma, I'm okay. I ate earlier, I'm a bit hungry now."
"I made some curry, go change and then come eat"
Kuroo made his way to his room, avoiding contact with his father. His room was pretty simple. Nothing really stood out, except a giant plush cat on his bed. As he was changing into casual clothes, he started thinking about Kenma.
"Kozume Kenma.... I swear I have heard of his name somewhere..."
Kuroo couldn't calm down.

After walking downstairs and almost tripping over nothing, Kuroo sat down at the table. His mother was talking, she was saying something, but Kuroo was too focused on trying to figure out who Kozume Kenma was.
He quickly opened Facebook.
"Kozume Kenma... Search... Oh there he is... WAIT WHAT!?"
Kuroo almost choked on the curry he was eating as an extremely cute picture of Kenma with cat ears on popped on his screen.

Looking back, Kuroo used to be completely different. He used to be more like Daichi, but after spending a week with Bokuto, he was pulled into the dark side, not that he minded it or anything.
His life was probably the easiest out of the four. He didn't have any regrets so far, he didn't have to worry about anything, he was happy with the way he looked (he even grew to love his bed hair). He loved his life. The only that he didn't love was Wednesday's, the only day when his dad didn't have work.

At about 11 PM Kuroo got a sudden text.

From: Kozume
Hey, u left ur manga at the cafe. Do you mind if I read it? I took it home with me.

Kuroo smiled a little bit.
"What a nice guy.."

To:Kozume
Sure! I'll come by when you finish it.

The response came almost immediately.

From: Kozume
I'm almost done actually. I will give it back to you later.

To:Kozume
Okay, okay. I'll be going to sleep now. Ttyl~

Kuroo didn't receive a reply and decided that Kenma probably went to sleep aswell.

But when Kuroo was already sleeping, his phone buzzed.

From: Kozume
Sweet dreams, Kuroo-san 😽

Today was the day when Kuroo's life would stop being so easy.

I hope you liked this chapter. More chapters coming soon. I will also write bonus chapter with side pairings 😊😊
