People Person

I'm a people person.

I like to pick up the pieces that the people leave behind.

Sometimes I walk in their footsteps,

Just to see if their size matches mine.

I love to watch them laugh,

And it pains me to see them suffer.

As people I believe we all deserve a personal eraser designed to give us some space from each other.

To control alt delete the things we wished we'd never said.

You never realize how much you love someone until you are threatened with the thought of having them taken away from you.

It is much easier to fall asleep alone with the echoes of others fading into your brain.

But goddamn it, I'm ready to sleep alone.

Let me be alone.

And let me find peace in the thought of having nobody to spot me as I fall backwards.

I have one shot at this.

Let me do it right this time.

Let me remember things for what they were. Let me accept things for what they are.

Never ever let me forgot why I became a people person in the first place.

It's because I love people.

And I will never allow something cynical to wash over an emptiness that was once filled with only intentions of love.

Let me not need to try.

Let it just happen.

I'm so sick of carrying the burden of being a people person.

I would much rather be happy.

Let me be happy.
