For this is the note I leave for you, curled up in the back of your mind.
I will share the tears of those who stood close by,
And onlookers gaze with pity.
Fall down to the ground and bargain,
Do not be angry with death young friend.
For it is only doing its job.
And you may lay there for days, weeks, years.
Always in the back of your mind is the friend you have left behind.
Yet somehow never really leaving your side.
For buried six feet under is the person with whom you couldn't live without.
And you stand and wonder how it is that you are not down there with them.
The sun will always rise and set,
Never will we remain in one place.
So just be calm and let it come.
Death is not your enemy.
And when it comes to scoop you up,
You may look back on your life and smile.
Death is not a thing to be feared,
Nor is it a thing to be desired.
And when it comes knocking at your door,
Act as if you are greeting an old friend.
For it may be very true that you are.
It will take you to the truth.
Death,
Is not your enemy.
