Chapter Six – Mackenzie's P.O.V
Alex turned around and knelt down in front of me. "Mac are you okay? You've been acting weird for the last two hours." He told me as he looked at me concerned. I wondered if I should tell him about mummy's friend but decided against it.
"I'm fine. I'm just getting tired." I half lied to him. Alex got up and lifted me into his arms before he kissed me on the cheek.
"We'll be done soon honey." He reassured me as I snuggled into him. I turned around to see if mummy's friend was still there but I couldn't see him. I sighed in relief as Alex carried me towards Demi and suggested that we left.
As soon as we got outside the scary people came running towards us again. I clung onto Alex's t-shirt as they started shouting questions at us. I wasn't a fan of loud noises, they made my head and ears hurt. I turned around and spotted my mum's friend in the crowd with his camera.
My heart thudded against my chest as we reached the car and Alex strapped me into my car seat. My mum's friend walked towards what I assumed was his car and got in while Alex shut my door and climbed in the car himself.
"Mac are you sure everything's okay?" He asked me again. I nodded my head as I looked away from my mum's friend.
Alex looked at me suspicious before he started the car and pulled out of the car park. I stared out of the window the whole drive while Demi and Alex talked amongst each other and listened to music. I couldn't help but wonder why Wilmer was there. Why was he taking photos of me? I shook of the thoughts as Alex stopped the car and got out. I looked around me confused until I realised we were home already. Alex opened my car door and helped me with my straps before he lifted me out of the car. My eyes started drooping as Alex carried me inside and up into my room
Mackenzie's Dream
I woke up in my old bedroom. I looked around me confused as the door opened and my mum and Wilmer came into the room grinning at me. I backed into the corner as they came towards me. My back hit the wall a few minutes later.
"Looks like no one's here to safe you this time." My mum grinned at me before she turned the light off. A few minuets later I heard someone coming towards me. They climbed on the bed and took my skirt off before they started touching me.
End of Mackenzie's Dream
I screamed as soon as I woke up. I heard footsteps rushing up the stairs before Demi and Alex opened my bedroom door. Demi ran towards me and pulled me onto her lap while Alex sat next to me. Demi rocked me back and forth as I cried into her t shirt. "Hey ssh it's okay it was just a dream Mac." She comforted me as she continued to rock me back and forth. But it wasn't just a dream, not the part where Wilmer was touching me anyway.
Alex went out of the room to get me some warm milk. As soon as he left Demi started to sing to me trying to calm me down.
Today, today you wanna run away now
You break try to keep it together
Love, love is all you need
You're a queen, but you've never known it
Because life has come and left you blinded
Stole your smile and left you crying
It's not your fault, but shame is all you got now
Your heart is tangled up in silence
It's time to let go and feel the light
You'll find you're not alone
I know it's easier to hide
But you gotta let go
And feel the light
Let go and feel the light
Be brave, brave the waters all around you
I'll stay, I'll keep you from sinking down
Love, love is on your side
You're stronger than you'll ever know
So many years of quiet
Building up like a fire inside
You're feeling like you gotta let it out now
Just let it out
Your heart is tangled up in silence
It's time to let go and feel the light
You'll find you're not alone
I know it's easier to hide
But you gotta let go
And feel the light
Let go and feel the light
How did you get here
You're locked inside of all this fear
Inside you're crying out
Your mind's at war
Get out, get out and live for more
There's so much more
Live for more
Your heart is tangled up in silence
It's time to let go and feel the light
You'll find you're not alone
I know it's easier to hide
But you gotta let go
And feel the light
Let go and feel the light
Brave, brave waters all around you
I'll stay, I'll keep you from sinking down
Alex came upstairs a few minutes later with my drink. I thanked him before I took it from him and took a sip. He smiled a little before taking a deep breath. "Are you going to tell me what the bad dream was about Mackenzie?" He asked me.
I froze. I didn't know how Alex would react. I shook my head no. "I can't talk about it. It's too scary." I told him
Alex sighed. "Okay. But when you're ready you can talk to me about it okay? You can talk to me about anything Mackenzie." I nodded my head before I relaxed against Demi.
A few moments later there was a knock at the door. Alex got up and went out of the room to answer it. I climbed off Demi's lap and followed him from behind. As soon as Alex opened the door, I froze as I heard a familiar voice
"Give me my daughter. Or you'll regret it."
Authors Note:
So I know I haven't updated this story in awhile. I'm sorry I've been busy with my other stories, plus I had writers block but hopefully I'll get back into writing regular chapters for this story.
