[A/N: Dedicated to ilovewerewolves2525 because she made me get off my lazy butt and upload this...and she's the only person to ever comment on my book. Thanks! It really does mean a lot!

You know the drill: check the end for a glossary at the end of all the phrases!]

“Thank you so much, Brucie,” said Roddy, smiling as he stretched and began freely walking around the room unassisted. “I haven’t felt this good in ages.”

“You are welcome,” I said sincerely. “It was my pleasure.”

“I feel like I could go for a long walk,” he exclaimed with a genuine smile. “That’s a great idea, actually! I haven’t gone for a walk in ages…”

I laughed at his care-free attitude. “I would never say no to a walk, as long as it is in the woods and I have a chance to stretch my wings for a bit.” I honestly think this is the longest I have not used them since they came out when I was five.

“You really have wings?”

I giggled. “Of course, I do. What else would I have?”

“But I thought those were a myth!” he exclaimed with wide eyes and a slack jaw.

“Just like I thought wolves having humans were, but here we are,” I teased him, closing his mouth for him with a giggle. Some humans might be weird, but Roddy is just hilarious. I wish he were immortal so I could have him with me always.

“Oh ha ha,” replied sarcastically, giving me a playful scowl. “I don’t know why I associate with riff-raff such as you sometimes. Young whippersnappers these days!”

I could not help but laugh out loud at his ridiculous impersonation of a pretentious old person. Trying to hold onto his persona, Roddy continued to scowl, but I saw a small smile replace it. He let out a chuckle and I tried to reign in my laughs. “You ‘associate’ with me because I can tolerate your old-person smell,” I lied, smiling. In reality Roddy distinctly smells of faint hemlock.

Don’t get me wrong, I am sure some people love the smell of it – his mate, for example – but I can barely stand it. Thank the Queen it is faint…

“How kind of you,” he said with a chuckle. “Now, are we going to stand around gossiping all day like a bunch of old hags or are we going to walk in the woods?”

I chuckled. “I am beginning to regret giving you some dust… You appear to be drunk on it. Alas, in vino veritas; you are merely a strange human.” He just rolled his eyes at me, his eyebrow cocked in a silent request for my answer. “We are walking,” I sighed in defeat.

“Great! Move, move, move!” he commanded me, pushing me towards the door.

“Calm down, Roddy!” I chuckled, barely opening the door in time to avoid greeting it with my face. “The forest is not going anywhere anytime soon.”

“I know,” he said with a chuckle, “but we are, so get walking!”

We strolled down the hallway smiling like idiots, coming to a staircase. What if he falls? My conscience decided to remind me, sounding like Jessamine. It would be your fault. I cleared my throat, stopping at the top. “You first, Roddy,” I told him.

“Why?” he asked suspiciously.

I laughed, trying to buy more time. “I would hate to fall and not take you down with me.”

“Okay,” he said with an eye roll, beginning to hobble down the steps. I stood right behind him, a little to his left, discretely ready to catch him should he stumble. When we were ¾ of the way down, I relaxed, certain he would be fine.
