"What do you mean 'we are moving away from the Grove'?" I shout at my father, my voice rising with every word. He has gotten me so worked up, I have lost my calm Forest Sprite demeanor! How can he even consider this? "It is madness!"

I love the Grove, it is like an extension of me. I cannot imagine myself without the Grove. I feel sick even considering this move. It might be because I am a Forest Sprite, but it could also be the fact I might be leaving my life-long home where I planned on living my entire life, finding my Sodalis, and settling down in. For the Queen's sake, my family and clan are all here! To leave would be child's folly!

"Brucie, watch you language, delicia," he admonished me in his usually relaxed tone. Sometimes it is just so annoying to have an Air Pixie as a father, but what can I do. He is my mother's Sodalis and it is the Lakespur Clan's disposition to water and air matches. There is a high chance I will end up with one. "Your mother insisted and she does not have to explain herself to you."

"Exemplum de simia, quae, quando plus ascendit, plus apparent posteriora eius! [Just like an ape, the more one climbs, the more one show's one's arse! ] I will hold my tongue! We are not even Dark Fae!" Only Dark Fae are stupid enough to leave the grove...then again they are exiled and lose their wings. "What if we lose our abilities just like them? Huh? I have not even received my gift yet! De omnibus dubitandum! [Everything should be questioned!]"

Being a Forest Sprite, I have known my element for a while and have had my wings since I turned age ten. I cannot wait for my gift at age 15. I very much want to be a duster. Then again telekinesis or telepathy would not be too bad either. I just hope I am not a shield; they are so useless.

My father just smiled and shook his head. "You will be fine, mi filia [my daughter]."

"How are you certain?" I have never met anyone who willingly lived outside of the Grove. Why would anyone want to? The Fairy Queen and her Clan live here, making it the safest place for Fae in the entire world, and it is so beautiful it nearly breaks your heart.

"Do you remember your grandfather, Brucie?" He asked seriously, looking me in the eyes.

"Avo Warren? The Water Nymphite?"

"Yes."

My father stood there, staring off into space. Why could I not have any other Fae as my father? I swear, I would even tolerate a Fire Elfling (no matter how many times they try to kill me) if I could just receive a less absent-minded parent.

O mi regina! [Oh my Queen!]

I snapped in front of his face. "And?" I prodded, drawling out the 'a'.

"And nothing," he stated. "Tempus fugit. [Time flies.] Your mother suggested it and now we are moving, mi filia. Best start packing and saying your goodbyes."

"I am bringing Jess," I warned. No one, nowhere, absolutely nothing will ever come between us. Not again at least.

With a heavy sigh, my father turned and began to flutter away on his beautiful wings with the white and gray swirls. D@mn@nt [D@mn] Air Pixies! "I am going to look for Rhyannon. Start packing."

Middle-of-Nowhere, Maine, here I come. May the Queen help me...
