"Alexandra, your bus is going to be here any minute!" I hear Lydia call from downstairs. I take one last look in the mirror before I leave, noting that no matter how hard I try to tame my hair and make it look pretty, it will never happen.

I nervously glance away from my reflection and back at my book bag. Today marks the first day at my new school, and to say I'm scared is an understatement. I'm flat out terrified. I've never been one to worry about others think about me...until now.

After rushing out of my room and down the stairs, I hug Lydia quickly. "Wish me luck," I say before pulling away from her and flinging open the front door. I barely make the bus, and if it wasn't for my werewolf hearing I wouldn't have made it.

Stepping on the bus, I'm surprised that there's nobody else on here. Is this how a bus is supposed to be? Am I the only one on here?

I glance at the bus lady who taps the steering wheel impatiently. Realizing she wants to go, I sit down in the last seat and put my headphones in.

After just a couple minutes of driving, the bus comes to a stop. Taking my headphones out, I look towards the front of the bus to see who we're stopped for.

The bus doors swing open and a boy about my age steps onto the bus. His eyes meet mine, and I'm taken back by the color of them. They were blue, but not the ordinary sky blue or ocean blue. His eyes were sharp and breath taking, like falling into the cold Arctic waters or the way the moon illuminates the Norwegian glaciers during the winter nights. Along with all of his other features, his eyes were enchanting.

The second thing my eyes traveled to was his hair, the color of snow if that's even possible. He had it flipped back in that style that so many guys use, and for the first time I liked it. I liked the way it stood out against his cold and pale skin. It reminded my home; Colorado.

And my wolf was going crazy about him.

I tell her that it's just because he's the first human boy that I've seen in a while. My parents cut off contact from humans, because our pack hated them. His eyes are still locked with mine when the bus driver grabs his arm. She starts whispering, and my wolf hearing picks up on it.

"Be nice to her. She's new and I don't want you to scare her." I try my best not to narrow my eyes at her. Yeah, like he's gonna scare me. He snatches his arm out of her grasp and starts to walk back, not taking his eyes off of mine. Thankfully for me, he slides into the seat in front of me.

I inwardly breathe a sigh of a relief, and put my headphones back in and try to ignore the boy in front of me. But no matter what music I play, I can't get my head to think of something other than the boy with the blue eyes. Something about him feels weird, but I can't exactly pinpoint it. I feel comfortable with his presence, despite the fact that I don't even know his name.

I must say, his cologne smells pretty good. It's like a cool minty smell but kind of sweet, like a breath mint. For some reason my wolf is drawn to it. Maybe she likes his cologne?

As more people pile on the bus, I can't help but notice all the curious stares that are directed my way. But none of them smell the same as him. A lot of the girls are wearing perfume, but it smells fake and overly fruity or sweet. It gives me a headache.
