There comes a time
when the world stops breathing
and all you can hear is the beat
of your fragile little heart.
Your fear may overcome you
the fear of the unknown
but follow the steps it leads you to take
for your heart will show
the right choice to make.
And when that time passes
and you feel the pulsing of the world again
the telephone rings
your Facebook blings
and everything is back to normal;
don't forget
that shred of reality
the truth you'd witnessed
carry it with you
like a star in your pocket
to show you the light
out of the world's cloud of darkness.
