Alone.

I curl up in my blanket of solitude
Beneath its thin filter of deceit
Hiding me from the world out there
I fear to venture through.

The stars seem out of reach
But if I tried, I could catch them
Within the palms of my shaky little hands
Clutching tightly to the edge of never.

Denial is my best friend
As are the shadows cast by this plastic world
I wonder could there be more to see
More than the hurt the world promises me.

Maybe one day I'll step out
And face my demons without any doubts
Maybe one day, I'll see there's more
To life than the corners of a lonely girl's heart.
