It's hard to pretend
to be someone i'm not
despite knowing it's right
this freedom comes with a cost
It's hard to see you walk by
and act like i don't care
when all i want to do is
reach out and have you near
It's hard to see you go on
not needing me by your side
when all i'd ever wanted
was to see you smile
Because of me
because of us
because of something more than what you thought
Was i crazy to think that it would last forever?
perhaps love's greatest torture is the breaking dawn of never.
It's still hard for me to see you
right there, so close
and not be the one you hold
in your cold, distant heart.
