I slowly opened my eyes and sucked in a small breath of air.My body was in excruciating pain and every small movement made me cringe.I squinted into the darkness as I realized there was something smeared on the dashboard. My heart dropped when I saw that it was blood.I started to panic and tried to move across the seat, but stopped when a terrible pain tore through my leg.I couldn't help but scream at the sudden pain.It felt like my leg was being shredded to pieces.

I froze when I felt a tight squeeze on my hand."S..Sam."

   "Jason,please tell me that you're ok."I cried."Please."

I couldn't live with myself if I knew that I was the cause of Jason's pain.I didn't even care about myself at the moment, only Jason.

   "I..I'm fine."he whispered."A..are you ok?"

   "I don't know......Ally?!"I cried.

The only response I got was a small whimper.

I moved my hand around aimlessly in search of my phone. When I had finally found it,I turned on my flashlight and aimed it at Ally.Other than her tear stained face, she looked perfectly fine.I then turned my light towards Jason and sighed. He only had a couple of small cuts and you could see bruises forming.

If the blood on the dashboard didn't belong to them, then it had to be me.I hesitantly turned the light towards myself and scanned my body.I stared at a deep gash in my arm and the blood that flowed from it.

   "S..Sam,your l..leg!"Jason choked.

I shined the light on my leg and all of my pain came rushing back.Since I had been wearing shorts, you could clearly see the damage that was done.

When the other car had smashed into us,it had dented in my door and caused a large piece of metal to stab directly into my leg.Blood trickled down my leg and onto the floor. The more I moved, the deeper the jagged piece of metal went.

I clenched my teeth and took a deep breath. It was the worst pain I'd ever been in.My eyes burned as tears threatened to spill over.I turned off my light so that they wouldn't see me cry.

"Jason, can you get out of the car?"I whispered.

   "Y..yeah."he said.

"Get Ally out of the backseat."I groaned.trying to hold back my tears.

He started to climb out of the car,but stopped."Wha..what about you?"

"I'm fine, just get Ally out."I said through gritted teeth.

I watched Jason as he pulled Ally out of the car and held her to his chest. He walked over to the other person's car and started to beat on the window.I watched as the door slowly opened, but I didn't see if anyone got out because the long awaited tears finally came.I muffled my cries with my uninjured arm.

My cries were soon drowned out sirens.I wiped my eyes and stared at the flashing lights coming our way.My heart leaped with joy,but at the same time it hammered in fear. Not for me,but for my baby.

Lights shined all over me as they worked to pry open the door.I held my stomach and closed my eyes. The door made a loud groaning noise as they as they wedged something in between and tried to open it.The pain in my leg started to build again as the door loosened.

One of the men reached inside the car with a large tool that resembled scissors."This might hurt quite a bit,but it's the only way we can open the door without causing anymore serious damage."

As he tightened the tool around the metal,it slowly started to twist in my leg.A loud scream slipped from my lips as the metal snapped in two.

The door of the car soon popped opened and I was being lifted from the car.I continued to groan at the agonizing pain in my leg as I was laid on a stretcher and lifted into an ambulance.

I felt a tight grip on my hand and looked over to see Jason. The tip of his nose was red and his eyes glistened with tears.

I looked around, but saw Ally nowhere in sight."Where's Ally?"

"M..mom is out th..there with her."he said rubbing his eyes as they started to water.

   "Babe,don't cry."I whispered.

"I..I heard you screa..screaming."he choked out.

I watched as tears started to run down his cheeks again.I reached up and wiped them away."Don't cry Jason.I'm ok."

It was only half of a lie.The pain had started to die down do to the medicine pumping through my IV,but it wasn't completely gone.

I watched as one of the men rolled up my shirt and smeared cold gel on my stomach. He held a small portable ultrasound machine and slowly ran the wand over my stomach.

I could feel my heart start to race as the man bit down on his lip.

"Please tell me that our baby is ok."I whispered.

"Actually..."he said carrying out the word.

My eyes started to burn with tears and Jason's grip on my hand tightened.

"They both seem to be fine."he said giving me a small smile.

I stared at the man in confusion."What do you mean both?I'm not having twins! At our last ultrasound the doctor only saw one."

The man shrugged his shoulders."Sometimes one baby hides behind the other.Do you want to see?"

I nodded my head and waited for him to turn the screen around.I stared in awe as I saw the two small figures and their heartbeats.Twins.I was having twins!

I looked over at Jason and smiled. He was wearing the same expression that I wore a second ago.

   "Tw..twins?"he whispered.

"Yes,twins."I said starting to cry again, but this time with happiness.

The rest of the trip went by in a flash.I'd completely forgotten about my injuries. The only thing on my mind was my babies.

I laid in the hospital bed with a stitched arm and a cast on my broken leg.Jason sat on the bed beside me,Diane sat in a chair,Ally sat beside her,and my mom was leaning against the wall.We had only been here for about 45 minutes and I was already getting hungry.

I poked Jason in the side and waited for him to turn around. When he did I pulled him close and whispered in his ear."I'm ready to sneek out of here and hit the vending machine."

He looked at me and grinned. His bright green eyes danced with mischief."Really?"

I nodded my head and slowly sat up."Diane could you go and get me something from the cafeteria?I haven't really eaten today."

She looked up at me and smiled."Of course dear."She stood up and pulled Ally with her."Come on."

After they had left,I called out to my mom."Mom can you find a nurse and ask her when am I allowed to leave."

She only nodded and left. She looked as if she was half asleep.

Jason stood and helped me up.I winced at the sharp pain in my leg,but ignored it and started to walk.

Jason kept his arm around me as we walked down the hall.Well actually,he basically dragged me to the vending machine.

When we had finally got there,I got a bag of barbeque chips and Jason got a pack of M&M's.

We were on our way back and almost got ran over by a crowd of doctors quickly rolling a stretcher down the hall.I stared after them and tried to get a glimpse of the person. As they turned the corner I finally saw a familiar pale face.

My heart dropped and I started to scream."Aaron!"
