Chapter 20

The Meeting

Katie's Pov

After going to see the others, I felt a lot better. They did not want to fight and neither did we. We all four of us could se they were being genuine. We had invited them to a dinner and a talk so that hopefully instead on the animosity we could be at peace with each other. I was happy that Adain was coming. He would have to bring the blond girl with him that served us drinks I really could not remember her name but she was very friendly. I am sure it will come to me when I see her. It has taken us a month to arrange all of this but we had to make sure all of us and all of them were free. We did not want to leave anybody out. I wanted us to live side by side happily. Not so much in each other pockets but, you know sort of friends. We had at one point been kind of families joined by love. Not that that worked out with either side but the point is it could have done. If it had we would have been happily living with our parents, even our grandmother would have been a twin. Now that would have been very strange but you really can change the past and that is something we will have too see too. We do not want anymore blood spilt. Honesty had to be the best policy. We would be their for them if vice versa. I think they wanted that too.

I knew that we had a family member out their, the same age as my grandmother. I know he was the one that killed our parents but I really hoped he had sorted out his hatred I and my sister did not have that anger yes we lost people dear to us but you know what we still have people that care. I think that was what was wrong he always felt alone with no love.

I had been peeling potatoes all morning not that I minded. I knew this had to be good. We were doing a huge roast. We had a pig on a splint and sheep and even a cow we were not big meat eaters but we could eat a little no being a horse did not mean we ate only grass and oats we ate purely normal food. In fact I can say I had never eaten grass.

With the food almost ready. The roast and mash potatoes thanks to moi. The vegetables' carrots, onions (strange I know but they requested It.) peas well you get the idea we had everything. For dessert my grandmother and Laura had been baking biscuits cakes and everything sweet you can imagine. Luckily they had every body in the group doing something which was helpful. The only person who did nothing but look after the children was Megan. She was quite happy. They slept most of the time. The last time I checked though she was having fun trying to juggle four bottles and changing nappies she looked a little stressed to say the least. I sent Tommy in to help her. Luckily they were fast asleep just in time for the feast. We had hired somebody to watch the babies. We had children among the groups so they had a little room of their own to play and eat. If any more children came they could go and join them. I think we were doing rather well.

The cars all drew up even people on foot and some in their forms. I suppose some were still on guard. But we welcomed them lovingly with smiles friendship and food. We all made such an effort to get along and you know what towards the end we were laughing and telling jokes. We asked them to stay, its not like we did not have enough food. It all needed eating up. They great fully accepted some including Adain were very tired.

The party I suppose you could call it continued well into the night. They all had fun. We asked the sitter who were watching all children to carry on the next day. They were happy to do so and took shifter as was written on who would sleep when, we were told the most problems were the older children our babies were no problem. I know they were good they only seemed to wake if for a minute before drifting back off. We decided the next day when everybody awoke we would set another time to do it again. I had never felt so happy with a plan coming together so perfect. I did not realise the storied both sides told. Adain and my grandmother spoke a lot too he said she looked a lot like her mother and his love. It was strange for the pair of them but they were happy.
