"Whatever you say... Goodie goodie." That famous smirk appeared right back on his face.

"Do not call me that, you jerk." I say, although I keep walking alongside him.

"Oh, what are you gonna do, tell on me?" He smiled.

"You are such a... a... a piece of poo!" I yell, he stopped and busted into a fit of laughter.

"That is the best that you can do? You can't even curse!" I laughed, bringing his hand up and faking wiping a tear from his eye.

"Well, ever since you got here, I haven't heard you saying any curse words either." I cross my arms, and he turns to face me.

"That is because my mom taught me how to act around a lady." I watched as he placed his hands in front of him, making his point seem more simple.

"Oh, well I think she forgot to teach you a few lessons on that one." I chuckled, he narrowed his eyes at me, and suddenly I couldn't read his expression, it was as though it got blank. He picked up his speed and walked fast, and I had to move quick to catch up.

"My mom never did anything wrong. She taught me well, never talk about my mother with such disrespect." He snapped at me, I pulled back.

"Woah, I was just joking Julian. Why did you just snap at me?" I ask him, once the words came out, I put two and two together, but he already started to speak.

"Well, for starters, I don't like you to begin with. So what makes you think I would actually enjoy your humor?" He asks, clearly not wanting to hear the answer and I stop.

"You know what? I am going back to school, I hope you get lost. I tried with you, but I am done trying. You go ahead and find your way back home by yourself. " I huff and start back to school. I pull my phone from my jacket and check the time, it was only ten minutes past, so hopefully they won't call in and ask. Once I get close to the doors, I pick up the pace even more and finally open the door. I look back over my shoulder and see that Julian is gone, I roll my eyes and walk inside.

"Ashley, you are late." Mrs. Jennings informs me.

"I know, I- I just woke up late. Can I please have a pass?" I ask as politely as I can, it's hard to fake a smile when I think back onto the conversation we just had.

"Yes you may, but before you fill it out..." She hesitates and I wait for her response.

"Is everything going good at home? It just seems like you have acting much more different lately, it's okay if you want to talk about something." She pulled a piece of her hair back and tucked it behind her ear.

"Nothing is wrong, everything at home is going great, I just didn't get much sleep last night. I was really excited for my dad to get back from his business trip. That's all." I fake a smile. Luckily, we told the school in advanced about my dad working as a travel man, so they think all these trips are normal. I watch as she fills out the pass, as she sighs.

"All Right." She hands me the pass and I take it from her hand gently. I walk out of the glass door in the front office and begin my trip to my locker. Once I reach it, I pull out my books and push my bag into the small space, I go to shut it and it slams louder than intended. Soon after, I see the hall monitor walk at a fast pace up to me.

"Why are you out of class, Ashley?" Johnny asks, he's a freshman, and he clearly takes this job very seriously.

"Look, Johnny, I am not in a good mood right now." I warn, but he crosses his arms.

"Let me see your pass." He put out his hand and I slap the pass in his hand.

"Okay, you're free to go. And I hope your day gets better Ashley." He walks off and I start my way to my first class. And to no surprise, when I walk in, all eyes are on me, I feel my face start to get hot and turn to the teacher.

"Mrs. Bally, you are late." Mr. Tunning gave me the 'look'.

"Yeah. Sorry. Overslept." I place the pass on his desk and slid into the seat next to Trina.

"Why were late?" She whispers.

"One word: Julian." She sighs, obviously putting two and two together.

"I hope he goes home soon, for your sake." She shrugged her shoulders and I nodded my head. Mr. Tunning quickly hushing us as he began to write on the board the lesson that we were to be learning today.

Although I hate it, my mind keeps rushing back to Julian. Is he okay? I shouldn't care anyways, I mean, he wouldn't dare even think twice about me or how I was doing, so I shouldn't even be thinking about him. I'm sure he'll be just fine, he's clearly old enough to find his way back home.

Well, I hope so anyways.
