"Henry, why won't you go to sleep." I looked at him. I've being trying to put him to bed for an hour now but I failed miserably. I had no idea what was wrong with him. He was crying and that made me want to cry too. I'm completely clueless of what to do. If Ms. Wilson was hear he would be in bed sleeping peaceful but she wasn't here to help with current situation and it drove me nuts. I pat his back trying to make him rest but he cries instead. I felt the tears came from my eyes also. I didn't know what was wrong. I didn't know what to do.

"Is everything okay," I didn't have to turn around to know that it was Carter's voice but I turned around to look in his emerald eyes hoping they offer some comfort.

Carter made his way beside when he realize that tears were falling from my cheeks. "What's wrong?"

I sniffed, "I don't know. He won't sleep and he keeps crying." I sob. I turn to look at the baby who looked very distress.

Carter reached out and placed his hand on Henrique's forehead. "He's warm. He has a fever. I'll go call the doctor," Carter left me in Henrique room to call the doctor. I was such a fool. How could I not check his temperature. I would make a bad mother. I didn't know anything about babies. I'm completely clueless when it came to these things. I bent my head and make the tears fall from my eyes.

"I spoke to the doctor she'll be here in ten minutes. For now we just wait until she come." He noticed my head down. He came and stand over me. "What's wrong?"

"I couldn't even tell that he was ill. What kind of parents doesn't know these things? If you hadn't come, he'd probably.." I sobbed and continued crying.

"Nothing is wrong with not knowing about these things and nothing is going to happen to Henrique the doctor is on her way. Everything will be okay." He reached over me and took Henrique in his arms. "Come on let's wait in the living hall for the doctor to come." He said and left the room.

I lifted my head and wiped the tears off my face. It's not my fault, when I was younger I never really got ill neither did Alliyah so I don't know anything about sickness. Even as an adult if I didn't feel well I'd take a pill. I didn't have money to be going to the hospital constantly for headaches, which was my problem considering I worked a lot and barely got free time for myself.

After fixing up myself, I went downstairs. Carter was rocking Henrique in his hands. I envy Henrique right now. He has someone to hold him when he's ill. I've never had that before. I sigh and walk over to Carter. I pat Henrique's back. I could feel the heat radiating from Carter's body as my arms touched his. I kept my gaze on the infant until I decide to look up at Carter. His eyes were darker than its usual green. We didn't break contact until we heard the doorbell. I stumbled back from him and went to open the door.

I open it to see a blonde, she is beautiful , her face held a smile and her blue eyes spark but when she noticed that I wasn't the person she was looking for, her smile fade. She was wearing jeans and tank top, if I wasn't for the medical kit in her hand, she'd look like a booty call. I gave her my best fake smile and let her in. She waited until I closed the door she followed me to Carter.

His back was facing the fireplace. "The doctor's here," I said to get his attention.

He turned and as he saw the blond his face lit up. Yep, she slept with him once or maybe even more. Oh hell, who am I to judge. Stop being stereotype, not because she's blonde that makes her a whore. Your just jealous that she got the man you want. Wait what I don't want him. I battled with my conscience.

"Britney, good to see you again." He said as he walked to her. He enveloped her in a hug even though Henrique was in his arm. He drew back and started to tell her about Henrique.

I excuse myself while they spoke about his health. I hate receiving back news, I can't handle it. I went to the kitchen and poured myself some water. After sipping some of the water Britney and Carter came to the kitchen. Shit, why did they come here. Didn't they see I was trying hard not to listen their conversation? I offered her a smile and asked. "Is he gonna be okay,"

She answered me with a straight face not returning my smile. "Yes, it's just a belly ache."

I sighed out of relieve. "Oh, thank god he's okay. It hurts me to see him in pain. Where is he?"

"He's in his room."Carter answered.

"Okay, can I go see him." I turn to look at the doctor.

"No, he needs rest." She answered.

"Okay, Goodnight then." I turn to leave neither of them bothered to answer me. But before I made it out the phone rang I went to answer it.

"Hello,"

"Halo, princesa," I recognize the voice immediately.

"Halo, Carlos." I smiled through the found then I begin speaking to him in Spanish. "¿Como etas? No don't answer that first tell me how you got this number."

"Well, princesa. I have my ways. But I have good news for you to hear." He responded in Spanish.

"What good news?"

"Remember that painting that no one bought and said it looked ugly,"

"Si,"

"Someone bought it," he said with happiness. She knew he was smiling.

"Really, how much money?"

"Fifty freaking thousand dollars!" he said in English.

"I don't believe you. Oh Mi dio," I mumbled Oh god in four languages I spoke. I could feel the tears coming down. "Oh, my what are we gonna do with that money?" I asked in English.

"There's no we sweetheart. You painted it. It's your money." Carlos said.

"Oh my Carlos, that's a lot of money for just me. We'll share it. I'll give you half."

"No," he said through the phone. He wasn't accepting the money. "You know you need the money more than I do. Move into a better place." Carlos always wanted me to live a better life and know I have the chance.

"Carlos, without you that painting wouldn't have being sold. You deserve half of the money." I said again trying persuade him to take the money. "Money isn't everything Carter, I don't need so much. I'll take half and you use the other half towards the studio.

"No. You use it and open an art studio for yourself. This your time to shine."

"I didn't study art at college. I did business remember."

"See, even better. You can have something you've never dream of. I have the money I sent it to you account. Kally, it wasn't just one painting was sold. He took most of them and the one It wasn't one money. I sent three quarter of a million to your bank account now sweetheart this is your time to shine. As soon as you get back home open a studio and do your own business. Because you deserve to be happy." With that Carlos ended the call. I stand there shock. I had enough money to take care of Grey and me. I had enough to start my own business.

"Why all of a sudden good things are happening to me? What did I do to deserve it?" I mumbled to myself in French. I turned and walked out of the kitchen slowly still couldn't believe the news I just received. I paid no attention to other two present as I walked out. My life would be okay once I go home. I have the chance to start fresh. Make a better life.

I made it to my bedroom and tears of joy flowed then I showered.
