Heart of Stone

You have a heart of stone as some say.
You say harsh awful things that ruin people's day.
Such as telling people they won't amount to anything, and that they will never understand your pain.
Well I understand your pain, and your heart of stone.
It started years ago when you met this guy on the phone.
You thought he was the one, and you wouldn't have to be alone.
Unfortunately that's not how it ended.
He got cold, mean, heartless, and he got you upended.
He was your knight in shining armor for oh so long.
But in the end it ended just like a sad song. You were left alone with no one but your misunderstanding mom.
A mom that didn't understand the pain, and thought it was just a phase.
It wasn't a phase your heart was turning into stone those days.
No one ever helped you get out of this phase, nor did they give you any praise.
They told you stop trying to get attention, he was just a boy!
All you were to him was just a little toy!
You see what he did, and you should have known his ploy.
So stop trying to get attention just because of a stupid boy!
So that's why you have a heart of stone day after day.
Sure you may hurt people, but I understand your pain.
Just give me your hand, and I'll show you the way.
You don't have to be alone just because of your heart of stone.
