Seriously... you couldn't let me die!

Chapter 1

I hate school, i really don't know why i'm still going anymore, hopefully tomorrow i can finally leave this hell hole.

It had finally come after five years of being on my own, as soon as tomorrow is over i can finally leave this god forsaken place and people behind, move on to find a proper home and real friends.

'Oh thanks, i'm nothing to you now am i ' Sky said sadly.

' No, of course you mean something you are me, the best part ' i said trying to appease my wolf.

Tomorrow is my mates eighteenth birthday which means he gets to find his mate, you'd think i'd be excited knowing it was me, but me being who i am, an omega and pack toy there is only one outcome for how this will turn out.

"Come here bitch"

Oh god i know that voice, i kept walking hoping it wasn't me they were talking to, but i have no luck.

"I'm talking to you mutt"

I turned around only to come face to face with the pack and schools whore, Olivia James, she has or will sleep with anything male with no concern for age or relationship status. She've slept with most of the males in our pack including the ones with mates, yes even mine. Who can blame them she is beautiful, blond hair and dark green eyes, slight build  and with no morals every guys dream.

"What" i tried to keep the hate out of my voice, obviously not suceeding.

"Don't have an attitude with me you should know better, do all this by tomorrow or you'll know what'll happen"

I turned to walk away.

"Oh mutt, make sure it's all done because no-one wants to miss the big party" she laughs   " Well except for you, because we all know it's not gonna be you" she's says hatefully.

I walked away this time smirking. 'oh if only she knew' i couldn't help thinking.

I got to my locker to put all their stuff away, after two years you'd think they'd learn to do their own homework, sadly no it's left to me as usual. I grab my gym clothes from my locker, just one lesson left then freedom or some resemblance of freedom anyway, right after i do all their homework and mine, i hope i have time for a quick run.

I go into the changing rooms late knowing everyone already changed and was outside waiting, i refused to change with the rest, just as i finished changing the late bell sounded, oh well i'd rather have detention on my own than listen to all the abuse and comments i would of had. I walked outside and went straight to my normal tree on the edge of the running track, i was safe here because the other pack members keep together on the bleachers.

Just as the coach walked across the field the gym door opened, i was glad i wasn't the only one late, i looked up and there he stood, Tristan Drake, my mate, i have no idea why the goddess paired us together, brown shoulder length hair, light grey eyes which reminds me of the full moon, big built with at least a six pack, 'aahhh' i couldn't help but sigh. He may be pretty to look at but his personality sucked.

He glanced around skipping me completely 'thank goddess' and walked over to the jocks, without walking five steps all the girls threw themselves at him. I couldn't help but laugh, 'oh how disappointed they'll be when they find out it's me not them'.

'You need to be careful then' Sky said.

'why' i asked puzzled.

'If they find out your his true mate, they'll want to harm you more than normal' Sky said worriedly.

 'Don't worry Sky as soon as he rejects us, which he will you know, we're out of here ok' my voice breaking towards the end.

Sky just whimpered.

Just then the coach called for attention.

"Since this is your last lesson of the day how about we make it fun"  everyone began to cheer and shout. "the first one to finish twenty laps of the track wins" said coach.

"Wins what" someone shouted.

"mmm, how about the winner gets an automatic A in my class and a free pass for gym for the rest of the semester" he said.

I couldn't stop the grin spreading on my face, i loved to run, Sky loved to have at least two hours a day to just run, because of this, running was something we did get better at. After hearing this i was rocking back and forth on the balls of my feet itching to get started. No-one in the pack knew how fast i was, i had to hide it, being an omega i needed to be useless in the packs eyes.

The whistle sounded and everyone was off, i stayed towards the back for eighteen laps, reserving my energy and to keep up appearance, if i finished to quick they'd know for sure i was keeping something from them. Just after the nineteenth lap i started to slowly pass people, not paying attention to anyone, the only three i needed to pass now were Luke who's going to be Tristan's Beta, Olivia and of course Tristan. Coming to the final stretch, i finally built up enough courage to pass them, but i didn't stop at the line but a bit away, i wanted to keep a safe distance between me and them. When i finally looked at them all i was meet with was glares, do i care, NOPE, i was ecstatic, 'no more gym,no more gym' was all i chanted in my head, but not all good things last i knew i'd pay for this later.

I was bouncing for the rest of the day, not even the packs homework could get me down, i could finally go for a run, i could feel Sky's excitement, she was starting to get anxious, she hasn't been running for a week, the pack kept me busy most of the day with menial chores, by the time i got home i was to worn out. 

I ran out the edge of the trees and stripped down my clothes and placing them in a nearby bush, the shift doesn't hurt anymore i've had five years to get use to it. As soon as i shifted Sky took off, we ran for what seemed hours but always made sure to keep in the pack boundaries.

I came to a stop at the river, i lay down on my paws in the damp grass taking a break and enjoying the peace of nature. Sky suddenly became agitated and kept sniffing the air as if sensing danger. I heard a snap to the right, Sky got into a fighting stance,neither of us any good at fighting but we are not going down easy. Sky sniffed the air again.

'Oh no' Sky sounded panicky.

Two seconds later i knew why, five people stepped from behind the trees, Olivia with two of her fake followers then Luke and Tristan, they did not look happy.

I stood up straight, i know what's coming, so there's nothing i could do. Someone threw i t-shirt at me, after hearing a growl i knew what it meant 'SHIFT', i went behind the nearest tree and shifted back, i put the t-shirt on when the scent hit me, it was Tristan's.

"What you doing here mutt, haven't you got homework to do" Olivia sneered at me.

I didn't answer instead lowering my head as a sign of submission. Luke started circling me.

"So you think your faster than us do you, well let's test it again shall we".

I didn't waste any time i flew back into the trees behind me knowing that they were following, i ran for a while but was finally getting tired, i wouldn't stop, i was too close to home, i chanced a glance behind me only to catch my foot on a root and went face first into the dirt. I jumped to my feet waiting, hearing the footsteps getting closer. Turning in a circle, i was trying to keep all angles covered but the next thing i knew i was back on the ground being hit from every angle, they wouldn't stop till my screams stopped. I just lay there, i couldn't make any more sounds i was in agony, i managed to open my eyes only to see Tristan kneeling down next to me, he leaned down to whisper in my ear.

"Don't try to be what your not Zero because we'll always be there to put you back into place" he whispered hatefully.

He stood back up, the last thing i remember was him swinging his foot back, then feeling extreme pain in my stomach only to be grateful to have complete darkness take over.
