Chapter 12

I turned off the radio and walked over to my window.After I'd opened it I tossed my bag on the ground and climbed out.I slung the bag over my shoulder and walked to my car.I quickly drove down the street and headed to Carly's house.

I pulled a key from my purse and unlocked the front door.

"I'm home!"I called as I walked in.

Jessica,Carly's mom,smiled and came over to give me a hug.

"Hi sweetheart,I'm glad you came home."she laughed throwing her arms around me.

"Me too."I sighed.

She pulled away and looked down at my bag."Was James there?"she asked.

"Yea,but mom wasn't."I said.

"Did anything happen?"she asked with a concerned expression.

"Yea he was mad because I ignored him and called him a jackass."I said mumbling the last part.

"You ignored him and what?"she asked.

"Called him a jackass."I said looking away.

She started to laugh."Oh,I just love you so much."she hugged me again.

I started to walk down the hall,but froze when a familiar faced came around the corner.

"Damon!"I gasped dropping my bag.

I ran to him and jumped in his arms.

"Hey babe."he said giving me a big squeeze.

"Oh my gosh,I missed you!"I said.

"You're still as beautiful as ever."he said winking.

I laughed and said,"Well you know you know."

"OMG!Jason seems to think the same thing!"Carly said as she walked up the hall.

"Who's Jason?"Damon asked.

I smiled innocently."He's my boyfriend."I said.

Damon stubbled backwards holding his chest."What?A boyfriend?Not sweet little Sam!What about me?"he said dramatically.

"Damon you're 25,in college,and my best friend's cousin.It wasn't going to work."I said laughing.

He let out a long sigh and then laughed."I know I was just kidding."

When I started to take my bag to Carly's room he called behind me.

"Tell that Jason kid to watch his back."

I laughed and said,"Make sure you tell that Stephanie chick to watch her back."

Damon's eyes grew wide.

"Yea I saw your instagram."I said as I walked into Carly's room.

Carly and I sat on the bed and watched tv.She nudged my shoulder and smiled at me.

"What?"I asked.

"A little birdie told me you and Jason had sex."she said smiling.

"What!?Who told you?"I said staring at her in shock.

She fell back on the bed and started to laugh uncontrollably.I stared at her not finding anything funny.

"What's funny?"I asked kind of upset.

Once she stopped laughing she finally answered."OMG!I was just kidding.I didn't know that y'all had sex for real.I saw somebody do it on tv earlier and thought that it wouldn't really work..."she caught her breath."but it did!"she said starting to laugh again.

I glared at her."That's not funny."

"Sam,look at me.Look at me."she waited until I looked before she spoke."He gave you the D!"

I slapped her in the face with my pillow.She finally stopped laughing and let out a loud sigh.

"Was it good?"she asked propping herself up.

I stared at her with a straight face,but I couldn't hold it.When I started to smile she laughed.

"He left you speechless."she gasped.

"Shut up."I said rolling my eyes.

"Did you take a pregnancy test yet?"Carly said with a serious face.

"What?No I'm not pregnant."I choked.

"How do you know?"she asked standing up.

"I'd be able to tell if I was pregnant."I said.

I watched Carly disappear into the bathroom.When she came back into the room she threw something in my lap.I looked down and saw a pregnancy test.

"Why do you have pregnancy tests?"I asked.

She stared at me for a second."That's beside the point.Go take it."she said sitting back down.

"You owe me $20 if I'm not."I called as I walked to the bathroom.

"Deal."she said right before I closed the door.

I stared down at the stick and waited patiently.
