Chapter Three: Roxy

Roxy:

I barely felt the tug of the iron as I was moved forwards once more.

The pain was nothing compared to the other ache. The shattered, dead feeling in my chest.

I was, however, painfully aware that every step I took led me away from him.

All my effort, all the challenges I had faced over the past few weeks, had been to lead me here. To him. To safety.

But I had been an idiot. There was no safety here, or anywhere, any more.

Cin... Cin had been right. He had never loved me; he could never love me.

Not only was I a Helian-the enemy-I was now a captured, weak, worthless Helian.

I couldn't even muster the enthusiasm to spark flames at my fingertips. The warmth would not have been comforting now.
