"So you're ready", he asked me.
We stood in front of a crowd that didn't seemed interested to anything. They were just too busy lost in their conversation, or should I say GOSSIPS!
"Ladies and Gentleman! Don't you feel this party is kind of getting a bit boring?", Charlie spoke loud and clear.
No one responded to the question. However there was a point to take note. Everyone's paying attention!
"We are going to play a game! It is called the singing challenge. It's a new game and we would be the first people to play it.", I could hear whispers.
"Com'n people! There isn't anything wrong! We'll divide all of you into groups of 2. The leaders will be Anna and Daniel.", Charlie instructed.
Everyone just moved according to Charlie's instructions and then we had a team. About 20 on each team.
"The game goes like this; I will display a letter on the screen and you are to sing a song.", everyone looked excited when they heard those lines.
The game soon began. I was in Anna's team and they were scoring much more points than Daniel's team. Charlie on the other hand was on Daniel's team.
The game went on for hours till the score was 19 for our team and 19 for Daniel's team.
If we manage to sing a song as soon as the last letter is displayed then we would win if not Daniel's team would win.
"The letter will be shown in 5...4....3....2...1"
And it was shown.
The letter "A" appeared.
Everyone on my team were thinking which song started with a letter "A". Everyone had sang a song they knew.
The other team began to countdown since none of us were singing.
Maybe if I take this opportunity to let the team win, I will prove to everyone that a degree isn't needed in life to be a good person.
I took a deep breath and began to sing.

As soon as I was done singing, everyone stared in disbelieve. Some of their jaws were hanging down lowly.
The only person who was smiling at me was Charlie.
He began to clap and soon everyone joined him. Some of them who were near me began to cheer for me.
"So I guess, we know who's the winner.", Daniel rolled his eyes playfully.
"Yeah! My best friend! Jennifer! Give it up for Jennifer guys!", Anna began to cheer loudly for me.
I could hear the everyone cheering loudly for me and congratulating our team. For the first time in my life, I felt so proud of myself.
Everyone soon continued with what they were doing; gossiping.
I was standing aside smiling to myself. Out of a sudden, someone whispered into my ears.
"You look great when you're smiling on your own."
I immediately turned around and saw Charlie smiling at me.
"You just scared the hell out of me!", I exclaimed.
"Why? Who else do you think in this party will say something like this to you?", he asked with a smirk.
"Another insult? This time apology will be more pricy, boy!"
"Êtes-vous sûr , mon chéri ?", he spoke a foreign language.
"What??", I sounded like a minion from Despicable Me.
"Oh so you don't even know French! I thought you would have known basic French!", he rolled his eyes.
"So what if I don't? I will learn it! Remember the promise?", a smirk had appeared on my face and I kept rising my eyebrows.
All he did was roll his eyes and said,"you've got to learn a lot more than that sweetheart."
With those words, he left me all alone thinking whether the sentence was a riddle or was it just a sentence with no motive.
