Chapter 53: Plan B

Holly felt like she was walking in a forest that never seem to end. She stopped short when she saw a well. What was a well doing here?

She frowned as she looked down. Inside was an oval, shaped stone. The moon was shining on top of it.

The moonstone.

"Holly, Holly wake up." Bonnie pleaded as she shook her awake. "You're dreaming, you're dreaming it's all just a dream."

She sat up and fell a chill go down her spine as she looked around the Salvatore living room. She had stayed behind while everyone went to the Lockwood party to help Caroline with Liz who was still locked up, she must have fallen asleep.

Another dream, but now she knew where the moonstone was.

Bonnie looked concerned, which was weird since she had been nothing but cold even since Holly and Caroline turned into vampires. "Are you ok? Was it another dream . . . Stefan mentioned that you've been having them."

"Yes it was." She said slowly as she looked at Bonnie again. "I saw the moonstone, I know where it is I saw it in my dreams, it was at the bottom of a well, and it looked like the one we used to play with when we were kids."

"The one near the Lockwood plantation?"

She nodded.

Bonnie stood up. "Well, let's go find it and let's hurry I have a feeling that Damon is going to be using this room for torturing Mason pretty soon." She looked guilty. "I helped him get trapped."

"What does Damon want with Mason?"

"Information, apparently Mason was hooking up with Katherine and he wants to know why."

"Oh, I didn't know we had company." Caroline gave her a small smile. "Hi, Bonnie, where are you going?"

"We're going to search for the moonstone." Holly said. "We know where it is."

Caroline nodded. "Can I come? My mom just fell asleep."

"No." Bonnie said sharply. Caroline looked hurt and disappointed which made Bonnie softened. "I mean sure you can come."

Caroline smiled. "Ok."

"Are you sure that this is the place?" Elena asked her sister as Holly, Stefan, Caroline, and Bonnie followed her. "In a well?"

She nodded. "Pretty sure. So who's going in?"

"Me." Stefan said and Elena looked worried. "Don't worry, I'll go in and come back fast." He gave her a quick kiss as he jumped inside the well. A few seconds later he let out a scream. "Vervain!"

"The water." Holly shouted. "It's filled with vervain, we need to get him out."

"With what?" Caroline demanded panicked. "Holly and I are vampires."

Elena noticed a pile of chains on the floor. "I'll go in," Elena said. "I'll grab him and you two can pull me up." None of them looked convinced. "Please."

"Let's do it." Bonnie nodded as she wrapped the chains around Elena's waist as Caroline and Holly began lowering her into the well.

For a minute they felt the chains slip and Elena felt into the water, the anxiety was big as they waited for Elena's signal. "I've got the stone, lift us up hurry!"

With Bonnie's help both Caroline and Holly managed to lift up Elena, Elena and Stefan both tumbled to the floor, Stefan's body was covered with deep red bruises. "Stefan."

Elena handed Holly the stone as she cradle Stefan's head and whispered. "It's going to be ok."

"You killed Mason? Why?" Holly frowned when she saw that Mason's body was covered with a carpet like a burrito. "And that's disgusting."

"Don't worry about it, I plan to get rid of the body as soon as possible." Damon said simply, he didn't want to tell Holly that Katherine had managed to get under his skin again. He showed her the moonstone. "So my little brother told me that you were the one that found this, care to explain?"

Holly sighed as she crossed her arms over her chest. "I still have the visions, not as often but I still have them. I think the witches are trying to tell me something but I don't know what. First I was in a graveyard surrounded by dead family members and next I was getting scenes of where the moonstone was. I have no idea why though, the dreams were supposed to stop when I turned into a vampire."

"Why didn't you tell me?" Damon asked annoyed.

Holly shrugged. "I didn't want to worry you. I need to go home."

"What makes you think that I would have worried?"

Holly grabbed her jacket. "Because you have before."

"Where's Jeremy?" Elena asked as she came into the living room. Holly was reading a book for English while Alaric and Jenna made dinner.

"He went up to his room." Alaric said. "Said he wasn't hungry."

Holly looked over her shoulder, Aunt Jena was still talking on the phone. "Who is she talking to for so long?"

"Everything ok?" Alaric asked.

Holly and Elena exchanged looked. "A few rough patches but for the most part."

"Elena, it's for you." Jenna said as she handed her the phone.

Confused, Elena answered it. "Hello?"

"Hello, Elena." Came Katherine's sweet voice. "Did you enjoy your little secret meeting with Stefan this morning? I will always know Elena and I'm always going to be one step ahead of you when are you going to figure that out? Do you know how easy it was to get inside your house? To replace Aunt Jenna's vervain perfume to stop her from drinking her special tea?"

"No." Elena whispered.

"Jenna has been my little spy for days now, but unlike you Jenna actually listens to me, so when I told her that the world would be a much better place without her-"Elena looked at Jenna who was holding a knife above her which she plunged into her stomach.

"Jenna no!" Elena screamed as Holly and Alaric raced to rescue Jenna.

Katherine smirked. "Well, you get the idea."

"She's going to be ok." Holly slumped tiredly next to Jeremy and Elena who were sitting in the chairs of the emergency room. "She didn't damage anything."

"Does she remember anything?" Elena asked.

She shook her head. "It's all part of Katherine's mind compulsion."

"Why would Katherine hurt Jenna?" Jeremy asked.

"Because she's trying to send a message." Elena said furiously "That she could get to anyone that I care about." She started crying.

Jeremy hugged her. "It's ok, Elena. She's going to pay, I don't know how but she's going to pay."

Holly saw Damon entering the emergency room. "I'll be right back." She approached him. "What are you doing here?"

"Ric told me about Jenna." He blurted out, his eyes searching. "Holly, I'm sorry I riled Katherine up, I wasn't thinking-"

"It doesn't matter Damon." She interrupted. "Katherine won, she will always win." Holly hated the words coming out of her mouth.
