Three forty-five in the afternoon, Marietta went to her children's rooms. She visited Edgar first and saw him writing a haiku for their father. Marietta approached Edgar and stood beside him, reading what he wrote in a scented paper,
Good day, Daddy
I am your laddie
Bringing my tiding
Through this writing
This may be simple
But it'll show your dimple!
Thank you for the teachings
Even though work has caught you
Our love as a family will push through
Marietta smiled at her son's work and she told Edgar,
“That's simple and cute enough, son! Let's keep that in an envelope and give it to daddy”
Edgar passed his written poem to his mother, and she went to Henry's room.
In Henry's room, she saw him writing something for father as well. Henry wrote his letter to his dad in a scentless stationery,
Pops, I know you are busy polishing and supervising the world that our family created, here I am, as one of your children, still here making you proud in every good way we can do. I thank you for being a number one dad, for teaching us good things. Let there be a week or even a month that we all spend time together as a family, not just in NOAH, but in real life too.
Henry gave his brief letter to his mom in a manner that he felt that it may not reach his daddy well, yet he hoped for the best that his father will read it, and hopefully, gain more time with the family. Marietta consoled her son,
“Henry, I talked to your dad, and it seems that his friends even tell him to take a break. He'll be with us shortly”
Henry looked at his mom for a moment, and gained gradual hope of being with their daddy taking break from their business.
At their kitchen, Iris and their maids, Doree, Aling Marisa, and Isabella, prepare meals for their Father's Day dinner celebration. Aling Marisa asked,
“Since when did you think about doing pastries, Iris?”
“I've been wanting to make some but didn't have time for it, you know mostly, getting along with other teens, and peer pressure”
Isabella joked on the bespectacled eldest daughter,
“Don't tell me that it's part of your peer pressure of having a boyfriend eh?”
“Nope, ain't gonna have a boyfriend until I graduate college!” Iris laughed as she started frying chicken lollipops.
Aling Marisa replied while mixing spaghetti sauce,
“That's a good decision, miss”
While the Kanlaons are preparing for their Father's Day dinner, somewhere in Australia...
