(Damon's POV)

"I love you, Ellie." I say and vamp away.

I can't believe I just did that.

I just gave away my daughter.

To a complete stranger.

Within me, I feel she'll be safe.

"Table for two, please." I say when we enter the mini restaurant.

"What will you have?" I ask her when we sit down.

"I don't know. I missed having eggs and bacon, what will you have?" She asks.

"The same." I say.

"Hello, my name is Parsha, and I'll be your waitress today." A young blonde says.

"Hello. We'll have two eggs and bacon, a bourbon, and orange juice?" I say.

"Yes." Angel says.

"Ok. Be right back." Parsha says and leaves.

"So... What changed your mind?"

"I don't know, really. I think it's the fact that, meeting your father and him hating you is maybe better than no father at all."

"Really? In my case, it's the opposite. Considering, my father is who he is, anyone in my shoes would say that same thing."

"I don't know. I just feel like he deserves a second chance, since he maybe doesn't know I exist."

"Maybe."

"So, you never really told me, why was the amazing Damon Salvatore working as a waiter part time?" She asks lacing her fingers and placing her chin on them, looking as beautiful as ever.

"That was a really long time ago. When I went to college the very first time."

"Tell me more." She smiles.

I couldn't help but reflect her smile. It was so contagious, nobody could resist smiling.

"Well, my mom was gone, I was in charge of Stefan since my dad was as careless as hell, so, I needed money, you know. It was fun, I guess. Working after classes then going home."

This girl just gets me to open up. I have no idea how.

She's changed me so much, dare I say, I'm in love with every inch of her.

"Wow. That's amazing. You never stop surprising me, Salvatore."

I couldn't stop the smile from widening.

"You never seize to make me fall more and more, Simms."

I then see a faint blush creep up on her cheek.

"Here you go." The waitress, I forgot what her name was, says and gives us our plates.

"Thank you." Angel says and she leaves.

I was about to eat when I notice there's a tiny note stuck to my fork.

I take it and unfold it.

"What is it?" Angel asks as I read it.

She wrote her number and a call me next to it.

"It's nothing to worry about." I say and give it to her.

Angel's expression then stays the same, but, I can see a hint of worry and jealousy in her eyes.

It's adorable.

"Hey." I say and wrap her hand in mine.

She then looks up at me with a fake smile.

"It's nothing, ok? Your my loved one here." I say and she smiles with a faint blush.

I smile and kiss the back of her hand.

"I love you, Damon."

"Damon." She interrupts me.

It's the first time she's called me Damon.

"Yes." I smile.

She then closes her eyes.

"Kiss me."

"Gladly."

I cup her face and connect our lips.

My grin gets bigger as the day replays in my head.

"What's with the cheeky grin?" She asks after swallowing.

"A happy day. Can you guess?" I ask.

She then shrugs.

"The day we went to mystic falls."

She then slowly begins to smile.

I take a sip of my drink and watch her eat as I eat.

"I'm working on a new song." She says.

"What's it about?" I ask as I finish up.

"Us. I've only got the intro and first verse, though."

"Can I hear it?"

"When I finish it."

"What's it called?"

"Mine."

She then finishes and I just couldn't stop smiling.

How can she make me so happy?

The waitress comes and removes everything and I order the receipt.

I pay and we head to the car.

"I can't take it anymore." I say, cup the side of her face, and connect our lips.

I can feel her smile through the kiss as she kisses me back.

"I love you so fucking much." I say as I lay my forehead on hers.

I can feel her cheeks heat up.

"No swearing." She says and pecks my lips before wrapping her arms around my waist.

I hug her back, just keeping her close.

"Ready to meet your father?" I ask.

"I guess."
