(Angel's POV)

{1 year later}

I wake up to the sound of a crying toddler. I open my eyes to see Ellie's room. Wiping the sleep out of my eyes, I see her standing in her crib.

"Good morning," I smile at her.

She then stops crying and looks at me, her bright blue eyes glistening from the tears. Yawning, I get up and stretch before going to her.

"Hello, sweetheart," I say, kissing her forehead.

I carry her and she wraps her small arms around my neck, hugging me. Smiling and returning her gesture, we both descend the stairs.

"Good morning, Delilah." I smile.

"Good morning dear," She says.

I sigh and seat Ellie in her high chair before sitting down myself.

"Any new news about her birth parents?" Delilah asks, placing a plate in front of me.

"Nope. Her family is almost as complicated as mine,"

"Oh come on, Angel, your family isn't that complicated,"

"Oh really? Do you really want to start this conversation in the morning?"

"Yeah... Not really."

I couldn't help but chuckle. She then smiles before handing me Ellie's food jar. I grab her spoon before feeding her slowly.

Ever since I got Ellie, I've been trying to find her parents, maybe even find the vampire. I can't get those vibrant eyes out of my mind. Whenever I look at Ellie, they pop up. I have a great feeling that he is her father. I don't really know if I actually want to find her parents. On one side, I don't want her to live not knowing her parents, like me. But, on the other hand, I've grown so attached to her, I can't imagine my life without her.

"Can you believe this little munchkin is turning two in a couple of months?" I ask.

"What? She is?" Delilah asks, looking up from her waffles.

"Yeah. August third."

"Aww. You're going to be two soon? Are you? Huh, are you?" Delilah says in a babyish voice, pinching Ellie's tiny cheek.

Ellie laughs and I couldn't help but smile.

"Well, I'm off to the grocery shop, need anything specific?" Delilah says, grabbing her bag.

"Nope. Thank you," I say.

After feeding Ellie, I put her on her play mat and start eating my waffles. As I watch her play, a strange feeling consumes me. She might not be mine, but I love her so much. She then takes her box of blocks and starts playing with them. Just as I finish eating, my phone rings. I sigh before washing the plate, still keeping an eye on Ellie. I then carry her and go upstairs to my phone. After laying her on my bed, she crawls to my stuffed animals. Checking my phone, I gasp...A missed call from Mason.

Why would Mason be calling me? I haven't seen him since I found out just how complicated my family is. I sit down on the bed next to Ellie as that day runs through my mind.

"Angel? What are you doing?" Mason asks.

"Is this true?" I croak, turning around.

His eyes widen as he sees the letter in my hand.

"Where did you find this?" He asks.
