Blaine and I were eating in her backyard. We always like to change up where we sit. Sometimes we would eat on the grass, sometimes inside the house, but mostly we like to eat in her backyard near the swing set. Today was one of those days. We got too big for the swings, so it's more of a distant reminder of our past.

It all started after finding out her mother had a miscarriage, Blaine, as well as her parents and older brother Jasper, was devastated. I took a shot and bought this swing set to show her mom that she still had Blaine. So, whenever her mom would go out to the backyard, I would pull Blaine along and we would swing until her mom came and started pushing us to make us go higher. No matter how out-of-breath I would be afterwards.

"I still can't believe you bought these swing sets." She told me while I noticed the wind lightly pushing the swing. Sometimes you'd think we had a wireless connection through each other's brains.

"Unless I'm wrong, which I never am, it brought a smile to your face." I said, taking off my glasses to rub them against my shirt to make them more clear.

"That's because my mom finally paid more attention to me as her baby." Blaine said, putting the napkin near us. I put my glasses back on to see the smile, which I was hoping for, on her face.

"See, so it was worth it." I said tapping the glasses when they were on. Blaine passed the tray of tacos to me for me to grab one. I did so and thanked her.

"But, you were only 10, wasn't there a comic book you always wanted or something?" She insisted, grabbing a taco as well.

"Not really, my nerdy side came out during freshman year." I said with a shrug.

"But, I bet it must've cost a ton." She said before taking a bite of the taco.

"It was worth it, trust me." I said. I started thinking of my own childhood.

"I wonder if you still would have gotten out of breath if we went on them today." She said innocently. I gave her a flat look.

"Thanks." I said in a sarcastic tone. She chuckled, and we continued eating with a few minutes of peaceful silence around us.

"I like these little picnics that we always have." She admitted. I chuckled at her choice of words.

"Yeah me too I guess." I said grabbing my drink.

"What?" She asked confused.

"Little picnics? Really?" I sent her an amused glance.

"You're right; that did sound a little weird." She said, chuckling to herself.

"Cheerleaders." I said shaking my head teasingly. She hit my shoulder causing one of my hard shell tacos to fly off my plate and hit the ground. See, normal people would get another taco and move on with their lives. "You killed my taco.." No one says I'm normal!

"It was on your plate!" She countered.

"Before you used your force within and annihilated it!"

"You ripped that off of Star Wars!" She said as I shrugged. She winked at me. "Speaking of Star Wars, do they say anything about guys who wear-" She's evil!

"Blaine, you swore." I looked around to see if anyone is listening in.

"I didn't say anything about your pink-" She said innocently. I guess we're going there. I covered her mouth with my hand.

"Wait, come on. It was because a certain someone put her red tank top in the washer." I said moving my hand from her mouth.

"Because a certain someone spilled their sugar packed coffee on me!" She said laughing.

"You secretly poured that sugar! No wonder you're so happy and hyper all the time. But, do you know what all that caffeine will do to you eventually?" I told her with an amused face.

"No geek talk! Eat your tacos! You have more on your plate!" She pointed at my plate.

"And replace the dead one?" I said with a mocking accusing tone. She rolled her eyes.

"Here eat mine, nerdy boy." She was indicating the ones on her plate while she took a bite off one.

"I don't speak cheerleader, but I'll accept the taco." I held my breath as I took the one she was eating from. I shrugged as if it was no big deal. Even though it kind of was.

After eating, we were laying down in the grass, watching the sky get darker.

"Fine, you're smarter than me!" I heard my recording voice say. Blaine waited for another ring. I sighed. "Fine you're smarter than me!"

"Ugh, I thought you changed your ringtone." I said, grabbing some grass and throwing it at her. She laughed.

"What and miss hearing you admit I'm smarter?" She said perfectly content with the situation.

"You tricked me into saying that!" I accused with my arm still under my head.

"Which makes me smart!" See, she's evil. I rolled my eyes at her.

"Just answer it." I knew she heard my mumbles because she answered. She put it on speakerphone.

"Hey, Blaine right?" I sat up immediately at that voice. It's the A-hole! Jesse Madison!

"Yes?" Blaine put a finger in her mouth towards her throat indicating throw-up.

"What's up?" He asked her while I just stayed quiet.

"Just hanging with Alan." She said as she and I made eye-contact.

"Could I talk to the nerd?" His voice rang out.

"Sorry! Wrong number." She hung up and looked at the phone for a second before she sent me a smile. "He wanted a nerd, but I didn't see one here." A smile grew on my face.

"Thanks Blaine." I said really meaning it.

"No problem nerd.."

"Hey!"
