I lounged around my house, thinking of ways to occupy my time. My phone starting ringing just as I was about to take a nap. The caller ID lit up Shawn. I smiled and answered.
"Hey Shawn!" He seemed a little occupied.
"Hey Y/n! Wanna go get some ice-cream?" I looked around my boring room and agreed.
"I'll see you in 10 yeah?" I nodded forgetting that he couldn't see me. "Definitely!" With that we hung up. I searched around my room and rushed to get dressed.

I knocked on the door once and opened it. "Daddy! This isn't a Rapunzel braid.." Shawn sighed and looked down at the little girl sitting in between his legs.
"I'm sorry baby girl. Maybe Y/n knows how to do a Rapunzel braid." He motioned to me and her little eyes lit up.
"Y/n!!" Shawns daughter ran to me and jumped into my arms. I kissed her cheek and held her close.
"Hey Daisy! Let's let your daddy get ready and I'll do a Rapunzel braid." Shawn silently thanked me as I led Daisy into the hall bathroom.
Shawn's Pov
I sauntered over to my room and scavenged through my closet and finally pulled a shirt on and leaned back against the closet door. Being a single dad was tough but I wouldn't change anything. Daisy's mom decided to leave her with me at the 5 months old. And Y/n was always there for us when I needed a break or needed help. I slipped into some pants and shoes and fixed my hair before making my way down the hall. I stopped short of the bathroom.
"Y/n? Can I ask you something?" Daisy's petite voice asked. "Sure love!" Y/n replied. Daisy sighed.
"Do you you think I'll have a mommy soon?" My heart broke. "I know Daddy is doing his best but all the other girls at school have mommys that help do their hair and take them to do girly stuff." She added. There was a silent pause.
"I'm pretty sure you will love." Y/n finally answered. "I wish you were my mommy!" Daisy exclaimed. They giggled and there was small thud and the door knob twisted. I ran down the hall a little bit so they wouldn't think I was eavesdropping.
"Daddy? Are you ready?" Daisy came running down the hall to me, I picked her up. "I am princess! Let's go!"

Y/n and I watched as Daisy played at the playground. Y/n was smiling like crazy with her ice cream. I looked at her and admired all her features. She glanced and me and blushed.
"Shawn, stop staring at me." She giggled. I chuckles and stared down at my shoes.
"Sorry but your beauty is just so enticing." I flirted a bit. She smirked.
"Oh really Mendes?" I nodded. She scoffed and threw away her ice cream then sat back down.
"Oh just kiss her already!" We turned to Daisy who had her hands on her hips and was tapping her foot impatiently. I shrugged and cupped Y/n's face with my hand and kissed her. She was surprised but kissed back immediately.
Daisy let out an exasperated sigh. "Finally!" We pulled away and we both laughed at Daisy. She came over and crawled onto my lap. She smiled at Y/n.
"I can't wait for you to be my Mommy."
