Tying a tie was pretty much the only thing Remus couldn't do, this was embarrassing for him so he carefully took it off everyday so he wouldn't have to do it back up the next morning.
Eventually he gave in and let the others try to teach him but he just couldn't get the hang of it so someone would have to do it for him every morning.
This eventually became a positive as the first time he and Sirius kissed was while Sirius was doing up his tie.
