Autumns birthday came in no time. 12 days before graduation and she was ecstatic.

I had finally managed the courage to give her the present I had bought her.
A promise ring that read, "To never hurt you is my wish." Her smile became so wide after she read the ring all alone in her bedroom.

"I adore you," I told her before she pulled my shirt collar, her soft lips touched mine as we kissed for a split second before Autumn pulled back.

"I fucking love you Dimitri." She replied before cursing herself loudly. "I'm sorry for saying that but thank you for the gift." She smiled again before looking down at the ring.

   "It's okay, babe." I chuckled but on the inside I couldn't help but ask myself questions.
