Class was boring and Autumn sat beside me fiddling with my hair.

Kids glanced our way as the teacher scribbled words on the white board.

"Graduation soon." He read aloud, Autumn and I sat still while I nodded asking for him to continue.

"All of you as seniors are expected to graduate. No ifs, ands or whats involved." His stern voice almost scared me but his comb over just did not do justice.

"As apart of the grade 12 speech committee twelve lucky twelfth graders will be preparing graduation speeches for next month. Those kids also have a chance at getting into the college of their choice," The explanation alone intrigued me.

I had no family paying for my ticket to college, I would do this for my future.

"Sign ups are after class. First come, First serve." Everyone gossiped silently as Autumn spoke almost as light as a feather.

"You should sign up." She told me and so I did.
