Chapter 21:

Once we were inside the house Mason led me to his couch, even though I already knew where it was.

"Do you want to come over and dance tomorrow?" He asked me.

"Yeah." I replied smiling at him.

I sat down on his couch and slipped off my heels.

When I looked at Mason I realized he had lip stick on his chin and under his nose.

"Oops." I said licking my finger and wiping at his chin.

He pulled away.

"What are you doing?" He asked chuckling.

"You, uh have lipstick on your chin and under your nose." I said pointing.

"Oh, no." He said running to a mirror that hung on the living room wall.

"Oh, no." He said again as he got to the mirror and looked at himself.

I almost laughed, why did I wear red lipstick? That was stupid of me.

I guess I wanted to look attractive.

My mother always said that red lipstick did wonders for me, and that it made me look ah-mazing.

I grabbed the remote off the coffee table and turned on the tv.

"I got the tv on, so you can get the game ready." I told him.

He just shrugged and walked over to the couch.

"I guess it's alright, it's not like it will be there tomorrow and I'm not going anywhere else tonight except taking you home." He said.

We played Halo, Left for Dead and Call of Duty.

I was having a lot of fun; more fun then I'd had in a while.

When we finished playing The Call of Duty game Mason turned the tv off and looked at me.

"I love you Nadine; you have no idea how amazing you are to me." He said rubbing the sides of my face.

"I-I- don't know what to say."

"Don't say anything." He said.

He leaned in and brushed his lips against mine and then pulled away a little. I smiled and leaned forward, wanting another kiss, a better one that time.

I let my eyes close and we kissed passionately.

We normally didn't kiss longer than a couple seconds but it was different that time.

Mason put his hands on my waist and pulled me closer to him.

He started to lie back onto the couch and I was too.

I was leaning over him as he was lying down.

We were kissing passionately.

I pulled away and gasped for air.

"Mason, I can't do this take me home." I said walking to the door.

I let my feelings take over and almost did something that I would've really regretted.

"Are you sure? I live completely alone and no one ever visits me without calling first." He stated.

"Yeah, I'm sure." I said. "I'm just not ready, we're too young. Maybe in 4 years or so." I said.

"4 ye- are you crazy- I'm a guy, I can't wait that long." He said.

"I'm not crazy, and if you really love me you'll wait." I said opening the front door.

He sighed and got up from the couch.

He had even more lipstick on his face.

He was mumbling under his breath as he walked me to his car.

After doing the usual thing he does he went to his side and started to drive me home.

When we got to my house I looked at him.

"I do like you Mason, a lot, but I don't know if I love you." I said sadly. "I think someday I will though, I know someday I will." I added.

He nodded sadly.

"I understand." He said.

Suddenly the passenger door sprung open and my father's face popped through.

He was shining a flashlight in our faces, like a cop would've been doing if he suspected drinking and driving or something like that.

"AHHH!" Both Mason and I screamed.

What was my dad doing? Did he know what almost happened between me and Mason?
