Give me Wings

I didn't get much sleep that night and Four stayed with me to make sure I'm ok. I had been listening to Four snoring for at least 2 hours by now and the sun was starting to show through. I sighed as someone knocked at my door, I open the door in my pajamas. Zeke gaped his mouth as he stared at my chest and was hit by Eric behind him still looking pissed off with his arms crossed. I felt the tears try and break free as I hoarsely whisper "What?" Zeke shut his mouth and cleared his throat "Oh yeah Max is calling a sudden meeting for the leaders" I nod my head as I look at him "Ok?? and why are you telling me?" he smiles and points behind him "Oh because Eric is a pansycake and won't talk to you" Don't fall tears. "Oh alright" he looks behind me as Eric looks at the ground "Is Four in there by chance?" I sigh as Four answers still sleepily "Yeahh. Yeah I'm here" he sits up from the couch and cracks his neck "I fell asleep waiting on my laundry to get done. She barfed all over me last night when I delivered her purse to her from the club" Zeke laughs as he nods "A welcome would have worked" I slap his arm as I look behind him and see Eric looking but as soon as I catch him, he looks away.

"You guys can come in if you'd like while I get ready and he wakes up" and I step aside Zeke grins and walks in admiring the apartment since his has no windows "Nice place" "Thanks" I groan and look at Eric who was standing there debating as I sigh as him "You comin in or not? It's not a trap for fucks sake" I look at him as he looks up with his shitty look on his face "I'd rather not, don't want to think about what happened last night" and I glare at him "Oh you mean where you jumped to conclusions and threw a fit because I puked all over Four and let him use my shower? Yeah i'd be embarassed too" he glared back and stepped into my door frame "I'm not embarrassed of anything I know what I saw" I laughed as I did what first came to mind as I gripped the door and smiled "Ok. Time's up" and slammed the door into his face, I heard a loud crack as it collided into him and turned around to see a stunned Zeke and Four. I shrug and look at them "You boys can show yourselves out right?" They nodded as I smiled at them "Remind me to not get on your bad side Jade" Zeke laughed at me as I nodded at him "Damn straight"

I took another shower as I still smelled of alcohol (external link) and got dressed and set off for Max's office. My only plan was to stay emotionless and show no feelings towards Eric.

When I arrived, Eric was holding a cloth to his nose making me laugh as he glared at me. Max walked in and stared at us and took in the scenary as I kept smiling, twirling around in my chair as Eric glared at me. "I don't even wanna know" He sat down and sighed as he looked at us

" Let's get down to business, I just wanted to talk to you two because I have a few things to discuss and only you two need to hear them. First, Congratulations to Jade for ridding us of not one but two divergents last night. That was fantastic." I smile at him and then look at Eric as he glares at me and I blew him a kiss to just piss him off even more. Stay strong Jade, no feelings allowed. "Second, the girl in Erudite had her baby last night" Eric froze up, tearing our eyes apart as he looked at Max and the emotions I had been hiding, threatened to spill over as I did the same "The baby isn't yours Eric" I let out air as well as Eric as he shook his head "Thank god" and Max then focused back in on me "Now it's time for her trial" I look at Eric who was watching me and I looked back at Max as I swiveled my chair towards him "I just want to drop it and if she comes near me again, I won't hesitate to kill her" Max smiled and nodded "Very well then. that's all for now take some quality time and get to know people plus we will be welcoming new initiates next month so be prepared" Max said as he stood up and shook our hands and walked out, leaving us alone.

I looked at him, we stared at each other in silence afraid to talk but I gave in, "Eric" I whispered he shook his head "You slept with Four?" He whispered and it sounded pained I shook my head and started to fail at my mission for the day, tears were threatening to fall. "No I swear it, I seriously threw up on him Eric, I have no reason to lie about it" He looked down and then back at me "I think we should stay on a break and see other people. I can't trust you" Tears were falling now and then rage took over "YOU. YOU CAN'T TRUST ME??" and I laughed "That's a good one, you know what Eric, fine. I'll find someone else and let you see you messed up" He laughed now "Yeah ok Jade tell yourself that" and he walked out as I sat back down in my chair and let the tears fall some more as I take in everything.

I was walking around the pit, shopping with Shauna and sighed as she stopped and looked at me "What's up?" I smile at her "let's go get tattoos" she smirks bu shakes her head "I can't" I look at her as she looks down "I gotta go to work soon remember I got night patrol" I sigh and nod "Yeah I forgot sorry love. Maybe another time?" She smirks and nods "Yeah I'll catch you later" We hug and I go to the tattoo parlor and see Tori as she looks at me amused "What'll it be?" I tell her my choice and she takes me to a chair and I remove my shirt and pull the straps down on it to where my shoulders were completely exposed.

After almost an hour, my tattoo was done and she sprayed it and let it dry while running my points card while I looked at my new ink in the mirror and noticed someone looking at me and I look into the eyes of the person I love. "Wings?" I nod and grab the tank out of my bag I bought while with Shauna, and put it on "Reminder that I can escape my problems I just need to use my wings to get me there" he nods at me "I like it"I turned around and looked at him and melted in his eyes,I just wanted to walk over to him and hold his face as I kissed him like nothing has happened but then Tori walked back in and he went back to ignoring me. Reality Check that he hates me.

"See you around" I mumble and he nods like we're acquaintances or strangers even. I don't know how much longer I can handle this.
