I look outside the car as we were almost to Erudite

"I'm hungry" I groan causing Eric to laugh "Guess it's a good thing we'll be there in time for dinner huh?" I smile at him and nod

"Yes but we're also in time for night study" I flinch at the memories

We arrived and wandered into the sea of blue, they all moved aside and looking on questioningly obviously wondering why Dauntless was there? I notice some from when we were still here and went to school with them as they stared, recognizing us. We have our Leadership jackets on and they're looking at us like we're growing extra limbs or something. I glance at Eric as he's somber faced and looks a bit intimidating as we enter the building that housed the library, study room and spare rooms for guests.

After being shown our room, We decided to drop the bags off and get a bite to eat. I enter first slightly in front of Eric as everyone stared on towards us, we grabbed our food and sat down.

"This is fun" Eric muttered and I grinned at him

"They won't stop staring at us" I laughed causing him to grin back at me now

I shrug the jacket off my shoulders and lay it next to me as I hear a gasp and look towards the owner.

"Jadence..." I hear the familiar voice of my momma and I stand up to look at her as she just stays frozen at me, taking in my appearance. I suddenly feel self conscious.

"Momma" I say lightly and step closer to her as she wraps me into a hug and I felt a tear hit my shoulder. I pull back as she wipes her eyes, I smile "Good to see you momma" she nods as she looks over my shoulder as Eric watches us steadily and goes back to his food. I roll my eyes at him.

"Were they horrible to you baby?" she asks causing me to laugh "Nothing more than I expected, obviously not too bad since I'm doing pretty well for myself" I grin as she does back "Really? Are you courting someone, daughter? Is he smart? Does he approve of your body modifications?" I hear my father talk as he looks at me smiling but the look in his eyes show he's disappointed in me. My biggest fear. I look at them and freeze up but quicly come back to my senses.

"I'm a dauntless leader now so I'm doing quite well with myself thanks and I am courting someone thank you" and he looks at me as if right through my lie. Oh shit. "Well who is it Jadence? Let me know while I have the chance" he says as my momma looks on at me eagerly. Fuck!! Think Jade think!

"Me..... Jade and I are dating Mr. LaRay" Eric says as he's holding my jacket and takes my hand causing fireworks in the pit of my stomach as I look at him curious as he grins at me.

My mother claps her hands together excitedly "Really?" my father asks looking at us as I lean in towards him "Yes poppa" I mutter

"We need to go find Jeanine now but it was nice meeting with you" Eric nods as I hug them

"Not very candor of you" I smile at him

"Figured it wasn't much of a lie especially after the other night" he whispers close to my ear making me shiver but shake it off.

"Ahhh Jade and Eric, how lovely to see the both of you again" Jeanine interrupted us

"You too as well ma'am" I nod at her. She motions us towards her office where she offers us chairs by her desk. "So, let's cut to it shall we? I hear Max gave you a task already towards my plan am I right?" I nod my head as Eric looked at me confused. "Excellent, so I assume you're already infiltrating into the persons' life?" She asked as Eric just kept his sight on me

"Yes ma'am" I gulped as I made eye contact with him "He's a little too easy to get acquainted with. Should be a easy and fast mission" Eric's eyes set on fire it seems.

"Excellent! When possible, I need you to slip this in his food or drink and have him drink it all. We'll tell him to do a few things and if he resists, he's divergent and we'll use him for testing" She says nonchalantly.

"Tell him to do a few things? How's that?" Eric pipes in as I nod

"This serum here" she takes out a bottle and puts in on the desk "will make an average person do everything they're told without hesitation we're testing it out until it's perfected. Get it in his system and let Max and I know when it happens so we can take it from there. Now I don't mean to be rude but I have to deal with a few things but I would love to congratualte you two on Leadership already, impressive. I will see you for your introduction party, good day Jade, Eric" and she took off out the door leaving me with Eric

"SO what's this mission?"

"Find out if that guy from the club is divergent or not"

"What guy?"

"The one that you scared away" I look down at the floor and notice his hands tighten around the arms of his chair

"of course it'd be him, you sleep with him?"

I was suddenly pissed off "Oh seriously? NO I didn't fucking sleep with him Eric. Way to be ridiculous as usual"

I stand up and head out the door with Eric hot on my heels "What are you doing Jade?" he hisses at me

"Going for a run before I snap your neck"

I manage to make it all around Erudite and made it almost back to the building we're staying at before Eric spoke as he ran beside me

"I didn't mean to be so rude"

"Fuck off"

"Listen to me.." he stops and grabs my arm to make me look at him as I glare at him.

"I'm a jealous prick, say it" he smiles at me making me smirk

"You're almost right" I mutter as he leans in closer to me, wrapping his arms arounf my waist as I put my arms around his neck

"Say it" he mutters leaning even closer

"You're a egotistical, jealous prick" and he kisses me smiling

"Close enough"

"Jadence?" I swing around after hearing an old friend as I look at her

"Lily?" she nods and smiles at me and walks closer taking in my appearance and smirks at Eric as she sees his arms are wrapped around me

"Eric" she nods her head as Tony walks up "Wow! Eric Coulter and Jadence LaRay back in Erudite. Looks fitting for you two. What are you doing here anyways?"

"Leadership detail. Following up with Jeanine and it's Jade now" I tell them "It's so weird seeing you guys like this" Lilly chimes in

"We're happy now though, that's what counts" Eric smirks "You guys together now?" Tony asks as we nod

"We are too, engaged actually" he adds in "When you two going to tie the knot and have kids" I choke on air as Eric laughs with Lily and Tony

"Not thinking that far ahead, day by day is more my speed"

"Well congratulations, we need to go take a shower and get ready for tomorrow" I tell them and I grab Erics' hand pulling him towards the building

"What's the matter Jade? Afraid of me?" Eric smirks

"Shut the fuck up Eric"
